[So . . . who are we, guys?]
-
Perum Tilderbough - Halfling rogue. My first character ever. I had just come off the OC and had never played an online game before. Messed up with him quite a bit, unintentionally metagamed a bunch of stuff, NPC griefed without realizing that I wasn't supposed to and was generally just an obnoxious noob. Hooked up with some vetran players who showed me the way through example and got me hooked on RP and COA.
Anynduil Mal'fore - Ranger/Rogue of Corellon Larethian. My first real character that I stuck with for a while. Also my first character to get invited on a dm quest. Got involved a little with the Shevarash fellas and the elven faction in general. Had the honor of dying beside Ky'ran (who hasn't from what I hear eh? ) as well as several other characters I respected.
Terik Caine - Human rogue and happy-go-lucky follower of Tymora. One of my all time favorite characters, bowyer and leather worker who did it just for fun and sold his wares when he felt like it, hardly ever turning a profit.
Sion Tir'ein - Rogue/Ranger of Solonor Thelandira. Archer only, avoided close combat at almost all costs, got him killed quite a bit and wasn't overly popular with frontliners. The same day I created him he was inducted into the local Thelandirites by Laroic (sp?). Hunted Malarites with them several times but never found any. Was a bowyer also and made quite a bit of coin selling to humans but would give bows away to other elves.
Vashant - Just a nice guy ranger. Created him on a lark after having taken a break from COA for a while. Wanted to play a pure ranger so I rolled him up and came up with a basic background for him. His personality developed while I played him and as he adapted to what was happening around him, which is most likely the reason I was able to play him so long I think. Had aspirations to join the Second Irregulars, got accepted then died his last time the next day.
Nae'il Ali'am - Militant follower of Shevarash. Had visions of grandure and was paranoid to the extreme. Got involved in a plot that involved some noble retainers that was most likely going to get really interesting, unfortunatly he was my first attempt at hardcore and died alone to a group of ellite bandits that made their spot check.
Inbetween all these I've had more chacters that I could count on both hands but these were the ones that I enjoyed the most.
-
Manataira - blue haired half elf barbarian
My first character. I had no idea what I was doing. She did alright considering I was a clueless player. forgot this tidbit! She once survived the Alchemist slowed and poisoned and being followed in slo mo by two spiders from the cave to the gate. I'm still not sure how that worked Remade her a while back and had lots of fun in the Stonelands.
Glinus Swifthammer - dwarven cleric of moradin
She was one of the first recruited by Bluebeard in the early days of the Iron Anvil. Dies often, usually saving someone elses arse. Fought the Lurker and went after the giant spider demon, and a bunch of other battles. Always tries to help people and has often successfully raised the dead against the alignment odds, sometimes causing them to change their lives. She was one of the Rune plot folks with lots of drama and DM spice ensuing. Fought the Grey Circle several times. Would have married Plate Ironspur if he'd lived long enough. Raised Brok'Tor the half orc from the dead against all laws by taking his body out of Cormyr to do it. Was blessed by Moradin for it and ended up converting him to the worship of Moradin unintentionally. Befriended Vrugar by helping her retrieve her stuff from Nada's when she was new to arabel. Kept ending up at the Inn in the Planes with Amyweig and was never sure if she was going to end up dead at Salynda's hand over Panther and that whole dragon plot. Stood up to Riautu and never had to fight him, good thing cause she would have and he'd pwn her. Befriended Zennekareb as much as he could be befriended. Has never survived the Hullack. Survived a polar bear that chased her from the Tanner's all the way to Thunderholme, though. Was Nayah's "favorite dwarf", or so she said. She might still be around…
Mara Dianis Mystran
Messed her up on creation and gave up on her to play Glinus more.
Trudella Grimm Cleric of Bane
Supposed to be part of a Banite plot before the inrush of Banites happened. Came to Arabel with two brothers and even a cousin or two to make names for themselves and spread fear etc. She's an elective mute and was far too sheltered as a child. Never really came to anything but I really like her so I'm keeping her alive just in case.

Heh well I played a few characters on CoA but my main one has been (and still is)…
Draken Leonson: Just a pure fighter who sometimes bites off more than he can chew. In the end, though, he always seems to get through (only just). He doesnt beleive in killer wounds, only scratches. I mainly made him to only use a greatsword, but found out its good to carry… 4 different weapons wich are, now, Throwing axes, a longbow, scimitar and shield, and a greatsword. Not the easiest player to play because he's blamed for alot of things IC but he worked out alright.

(ill try to bring Twisspy back one day BlackWriter).
As far as our twisted couple is concerned, they're still on that endless honeymoon we had in our sigs. :D
Yes, I seem to have the most . . . well, someone described it as 'loveable' characters. Shall I entertain you all with a list? Right.
First I recall, my characters being the first named, spouse/girlfriend the second:
Amrose Deadmane - Arie Di'makiir/Deadmane
Valdur Sylver - Twisspy Moonhill
Varrok Blackwell - *** (Not to be revealed yet! ;) )
Vakal Black - Fade Vrol
Vircel "Black Writer" Blackwood - Alyssa Raum (Though that one's still working itself out)Loveable . . . yep.
–BlackWriter and his million faces

Where should I start. In total, I bet my character count would go over that legendary 100, so I'll just name a few of my personal favourites.
Hafur Redforge - My second character, powerbuilt, powergamed and god knows what. Didn't know where he came from, yet made quite a few friends. Saw to the burial of Bunus Brighthammer, was gifted a mithral dwarven waraxe, which he named the giantchopper. Was taught elven by THE bard of Arabel. Eventually attempted to join the militia, couldn't fit a chainmail.
Moriard Thundermaul - My personal favourite, among all the characters I've played I still like Moriard the most. A drink hard, fight hard, die with style dwarven battlerager and a devout follower of Bluebeard, came to Arabel during the white dragon plot, rawked with his dual wielded dwarven war-axes, ended up dead, defending Arabel in an orcan invasion with Ragnar Maydur.
Gorch Iron - A shield dwarf from the jungles of chult, went through alot during his stay in Arabel, befriended Kateb before he learned to speak common. Was taught to speak nearly understandable common, from the simple "Axe away!" to the naming of differend fruits and vegetables in common. Taught the Iron anvillans of the ways of Thard Harr, ran around in bronze colored armor, in favor of his god. Mastered the greataxe, and caught the respect of quite a few citizen.
Palin Oathshield - A dwarven warrior, this character is still active, even if only a bit.
Throlgar Kyyrnuld - The duergar and my most recent character, assaulted multiple people. Cut the beards off a few dwarves, got beaten down by: An assassin, a drow rogue, a were-rat and a retainer of House Bhaliir. Was a self-centered character that believe himself to carry the ultimate, godly strenght, wisdom and stamina. Referred to people as surfacers and slaves, once again rawked the greataxe.
Do I ever play non-dwarves, you might ask. Here's a few of the non-dwarven characters that are on the top of my mind.
Vico Tornium - The son of a Neverwintan merchant, travelled alone three years, after seeing his brothers die in the hands of half-orcs. Held a deep hatred towards all orc-breed, supported the doings of Randal Kinstilt rather openly and nearly got himself removed from the militia. Danced in battle, adorning a pink full plate. Suggested Emery to use alcohol when washing his hair. Trained under blademaster Nathan Wayne, whom taught him the secrets of fighting and gifted him with a gemmed sword. Attempted to hit on a few Thond girls. Lost his head during an orcan riot in the slums district, the head was never recovered.
Thurn Hammerhill - My first guh-nome, a chubby fighter whom wanted to unite all of the gnome folk. Seeked for ways to speak with elementals, got owned by a long-gone Thayan knight, died to a death-spell by a drow-mage, served as a deputy during the stonelands plot.
Turin Boholder - The one-eyed guh-nome with a large bastard sword, challenged anyone whom'd make a joke of him or note something considering his size. Never lost a duel, came second in two tournaments. Pissed off most of his fellow retainers with his arrogancy, respected only one wizard during his stay in Arabel. Left Arabel, for his job lacked of the excitement he seeked.

Ok, let put my primery characters down..
Alice Shadowhand : first character ever! (before Draco read any server rules) was a CN rogue/cleric with no patron diety and the death domain… Claimed she was part shadow dragon and came from hell, stop playing her after reading the server rules (but hey.. now you know were my forum name comes from)
Ann the Rabbit Fastfoot :My first character to really take of. Was orginaly NE and godless, but due to the help of alot of good aligned people, eventerly turned NG and devoted follower of all 4 dweomerheart dieties and took over the cult of velsaroon for a brief time.
Dated Figlot Teatime and Ferep the halfling warrior, had a habit of taking dead bodies to pieces in public and often told people she was a expect in necomancy and was a a halfling spellsword, much to my surprise she was never atacked by vigianties.
Was a proud member of the univirsty and eventerly left to better take care of her baby daughter Valia.
Tasia Winkilset AKA Panther: My longest lasting, most complicated and proberly most famous character.
Started out as LN, with a tendercy to do what what lawfull and indiffrent to good and evil with a strong dislike of chaos and a uttter hatred of Cyric.
The reason behind this mindset was that her older half brother was a Cyrist and made her childhood prety hellish, This was also the reason why her people skills were so poor.. her half brother had charm and people skills.. which he used to make sure Tasia had no friends, and was the main reason she left for Arabel (that and her idolised master dying)
Orginly spoke in a way that refared nearly everything in terms of winds, a trait that slowly went away as she spent more time round others.
First set people she mixed with were LG halflings and came to repect Salynda, even through she couldn't understand why she was kind to people all the time (a trait which she latter wanted Saly to return too). Had a crush on Artol, joined house thonds adveture company, got involed on the fringes of the white dragon, lurker and grey circle plots.
Nearly converted to Kossuth, when Babroas told her Akadians have no after ife... didn't take her near convertion well and try to get Zurk (who she had a short relationship with) away from him, challanged Barbrous to a death duel in the sewers, but was told it was either in arena or not at all , wasn't stupied enough to fight a open battle against a cleric.
Around this point Tasia got the biggest shock of life when she found Saly was a dragon cultest.. tried to get her away, went around other people telling them she was a silly girl and just neeeded helping out, told Baba she was scaird she have to kill Saly to save her honor.. Baba told Saly.
The relationship at this point between the two went down hill.. and Tasia learned of Saly increasing dragon fanasism, tried to reason via letters, said she meet with Tyran't and talk about things.. got torched by said half red dragon.. Saly helped. Tasia followed Saly into wilds and got killed by a dire polar bear (throwing herself in front of it to save Saly.. Tasia wasn't in the best of mental states at this point as you can guess.)
After 3 weeks in a fuge, respawned in a really bad mental state with a tendercy to call herself TW and and her meomry was in tatters. Was picked up by Glinus and took to house Thond. There her mind was slowly rebuilt.. but not without some serous long term effects, from then on Tasia never used Panther as her name, sometime had dark deep rages were she wanted to make those who hurt her really suffer and developed a deep desire to redeem Saly and bring her back into the light that was downright unhealthy. Also developed a desire to kill all dragons...
Also started having really bad nightmares which caused her serous sleep depervation on and off. Also had dreams of Saly kissing her and become some kind of good ruler...
Contiued on her crusade to redem Saly and stop the cult of Tiamat going on for proberly too long.... taught Sorcress how to control the powers and became head of general studies at the univirsty.
Eventerly help kill Saly in duel (which gave her a really bad guilt complex for the rest of her life) got subduced by Elva (now evil and former close friend) and turned into a staute by Amy(now evil and a former close friend).
And now folks, you know why Tasia was so very messed up! :D
Anarowung Hanlen: After Tasia, I thought I try my hand at elven poltics. Had a brief but very fun life, was a member of green dragons, was threatened to be exciled from the elven people becuse her tendery to act on what she though was right and her closness with house Deshurr.
Eventerly killed by two assasions (one who I not seen log on for ages :( ) decided to call it a day at this point...
Lucy Rosehand: sunite monk.. and that all your getting for now!

Just popped in to post the nwn2 price and take a trip down memory lane. What a fun thread, brings back some good memories. Let's see, I retired and returned a few times… a few off the top of my head:
Masklin Jenner: Rogue Thond retainer, TN but played him more like NG. Topped out at level 9, then died a few times. I took this guy way too seriously, which eventually sucked all the fun out of it. Buddied around alot with Tomar and Eva. First rogue character I tried, been my favorite class ever since. I think he left town in some drama-queen fashion, don't remember why.
Perrin Underhill: Grouchy halfling Tymoran cleric, CG. Think I stopped playing around level 8. Most fun I've had playing any character. Created along with Liv and Wil to just have fun and to get away from drama, but somehow along the line people started seeing us as "official" Tymorans, especially Wil. We made a point of recruiting and taking everyone on quests, but EVERYONE wanted to quest with the 3, and they started to bring all their melodrama along for the ride, so it got less and less fun, more and more work. The lower-middle levels were the most fun, where you got a good mix of new and experienced players, people more focused on having a good time than not dying.
The 3-man gypsy crypt quest with Wil and Rath was by far my favorite scripted quest (no fatalities, either!). Retired without retiring. Fun is its own reward, but he had the best gear I've ever seen on any of my CoA characters.
Tignar Coliff: My favorite comic relief character. Dwarf barb/fighter, CG. Think he got up to 3/4. Only character where I'm sure I played charisma properly... he had 6, someone once told me it should be less. Smart, strong, and ridiculously tough, but gross enough that nobody wanted him around anyway. Bagged a hill giant at level 4 with Orax's rogue, fought off an undead attack on a caravan in his underwear, once offered to buy a friend's dog for food. They didn't stay friends. I wanted to kill him off by having him trip and fall while picking his nose with an arrow or something, but then I got bored.
-
Heh. This one has been dead for a year but…oh well.
Isendel Lightbringer: Cleric of Torm and my first character. Sort of Graf Du'bree's sidekick. I believe he was also the priest at Ky'ran's final funeral. Don't think he died. I guess I must have just stopped playing him.
Gavin Arnimanner: Paladin of Hoar. Hah, somehow joined the Bhaliir Mercs and ended up having his Paladinhood taken away. Was also a member of the 2nd Irregulars for a bit. Never really developed him like I'd wanted, but that stuff happens.
Glendur Cys'varine: Half-elf ranger/sorceror and follower of Eilistraee. Cocky and overconfident in his swordsmanship (even though he was the worst duelist in the Duelling League :(. But he did hit Raemos with a cause moderate wounds spell for 6 damage! Hah!
-
I'll take a stab at it:
Justian Yamamoto: He was a emotionally troubled street rat turned spy and assassin. He worked for Anen originally before becoming more of a freelance agent for whoever paid most. He ultimately was executed for murder, attempted murder and torture.
Marcus Hansen: My Aasimar of Red Knight that was a failure as a strategist. Expeditions led by him had a casualy rate of roughly 60%. He was a Wyverngaurd for a while until he met his final end to an ogre.
Keegan Moore: Ex-pirate hunter turned War Wizard. He was a bit of a hot head and often clashed with his colleagues. He ultimately quit the War Wizards after a confrontation with Alarphon Wellington. He attempted to aid the harpers in bringing down several high profile criminals and expose how the Alarphon was cooperating with them but he was assassinated in the process.
Jerry Barnsworth / Kevin Morenson: My tymoran con-man/entertainer/so much more. I wish I could delve into all that he is, but alas his story is not over. To those that do know a bit…. They understand why he has been my most memorable character to date.

Wow… Talk about Necromanced!!!
I haven't been here too long, but my time here is rapidly drawing closed (at least for a while), when I'll be headed off to the military. Therefore, I figured this would be a good place to list what I've done/been
Ko-Ri-Us Sekundus - Barbarian of Thar. Served a Lord that was actually a priest of Gargauth. Didn't know he had to apply for such a concept, so he turned into a general misanthropist, and faded into infamy.
Terminus Praetori - The not-so-original battle-cleric of Tempus. He showed up to create a shrine to his God, before finding other Tempans that told him his idea was ludacris. He made friends with some Banites, ended up fighting them to a climactic death, only to be raised and die again while trying to hold a bridge from a swarm of orcs. He lived, he had multiple-personality disorder, he loved, he died... a lot.
Pope Morris - A misbegotten monk, that thought he was a gaurd. Helmite, and constantly plagued by drunks in the market.
Urban - a hin sewer-druid. Mostly ran around and stared at woman, making large eyes at them. No, he wasn't a perv... just dirty
Charir Mar'Kevessa - Cleric of Tiamat. He probably doesn't like you... to this day.
Charir Mar'Kevessa

Forgot one:
Ezra Rhym: My Red Wizardess/ Cleric of Tiamat. She basically was annoying to play really haha… But she did kill off Cake's RW :P
-
Wow… Talk about Necromanced!!!
Guards! Arrest this man!
Anyway….
Toli Ironsworn - Dwarven Cave Delver(Ranger) He hasn't been around in nearly a year...
Nell Thorn - Elven merchant guard. She's the reason Toli has been hanging in caves for this past while
Roikardio Ninalfini - Gnomish tailor. He hasn't been around too much, for lack of foppish people to buy his clothing...
The rest are no-bodies...
-
Trystan E' Leluath – Half-elf, former cleric of Chauntea, merchant of small note, the rest are spoilers...bleh...I'll come back in a year and necromance this thread maybe and spill beans.

@Owens:
Forgot one:

Er, let's see.
Ratworthy P. Wheedle aka "Honest" Wheedle aka Rat.- My first character I really enjoyed. Rat was a conman who started out with the lofty ambition of earning enough to buy his own hovel. His fate was pretty much decided the day he first walked into the Three Bars into the middle of a 10 + gathering of the old Bars gang, and got taken under the wing of Sulla Aers and Max LeRouge.
I had great fun organising various feats of con-artistry, the most elaborate being a three-man version of the fiddle game, which we pulled a few times on various merchants. He was also known for selling fake magical tomes using a stray dog as his "familiar", selling books outside the Visitor's Centre for a highly inflated cost, begging, training a crow to dance then charging people money to watch it, and fencing items for the Thieve's Guild.
Pannilan Fleetfoot- My take on a Cleric of Brandobaris. Spent alot of his time writing and telling stories about the Scamp, and adventuring with the halfling Warband.
Mustard Squidmitten aka "Mr. Brown"- Monk of the Iron Gauntlet. Supposedly an assassin/spy for the Banite Church, but ended up helping to form and run the Knights of the Road due to a lack of Banites.
Jack Gallows- A work in progress! Probably the most enjoyable character I've ever played on CoA.
-
Kiria Morningstar!- My main character! Druid, halfling. I remember when I first made her she was just going to be some character I could play when I was bored with my others, but then I started playing her more and more. Now she's lvl 8, happily married, and kickin butt!
Faith Lynn Anderson- My rogue halfling. I had her longer than Kiria, but she didn't do as well. I started playing her more when Kiria was stuck in jail, and then she made quite a few friends. I'll log onto her every once in a while, when I'm usually bored with Kiria or something.
Hilda- I doubt anybody remembers this character, but this was my very first character when I started playing Arabel only a year ago. She was a fighter, and pretty good too. I stopped playing her when she lost everything in a fey quest along with all her other party members. Maybe one day i'll bring her back out just for the fun of it.
-
I have played the characters Division by Zero, Cake or Death, and probably my most famous, Gurb. A few side characters I play include, but are not limited to, Elizium, Syntax, and Snowman. The ultra spoilish character I played, as long as you promise to not tell anyone, was Deadlock.
I have often been called the irc ventrilliquest by those in the know, do to my ability to have multiple screen names going at once, despite only having one computer.
-
Hrrm, let's see.
Astarn King, was a second generation guardsmen, the crop right after the initial V3 starter guards. Total hardass, picked fights with half orcs. Was eventually accused and convicted of tortureing criminals, yet successfully blackmailed Warden Duthar and was let off with nothing more then a slap on the wrist and dismissal from the militia. Promptly went to work for longtime arch rival Mumad Ramas. Was eventually killed by some random gypsy spawn. Oh, also had a +1 longsword when such loot was teh pimpest around.
Algar Perriwell, Was a Wyvernwater Spellguard, fought in the battle of Wyvernwater, fueded with DeSchurran retainers. Fireballed a Phhaerim army. One of very few characters around to have met the dead lord Fezznick.
Arcturous Ruha, Cleric of Velsharoon, tirelessly campaigned for his faith in the city, constantly tried to bring the tired huddled masses into his sway and was meeting with a fair bit of success, until the War Wizards took enough intrest in him to execute him anyways.
-
Jerome Addams- A black man who everyone seems to know and love now, seeing Fade'wein Gwette, and grew up alone without a family his past being a nightmare.
Lars Wolfbane- A cleric of Tempus who grew up in a tribe to the north known as "the people".
Celius Wensbane- A strong fighter who seems polite and perfect on the outside but if angered enough a somewhat demonic side comes out of him! gasp
-
I raise this thread from the dead because its a pretty fun read, and I thought it'd be better then starting a new one because we can catch a glimpse of the history of Arabel by reading some of these posts. Plus we have so many new characters and stories to add I think we can continue this little history lesson (considering its been years since the last post).
Not sure if there was another thread started like this more recently but like I said, its pretty fun to see the stories of all these old players and characters.
