Slaadi, the Tablets, and the ancient Sun
-
Jace of the Seekers and apprentice to Alistair came to Eveningstar and spoke with me last eve. He told me that he had gone exploring within the Stonelands and had run into a group of people out there. Nomads by the sounds of it, perhaps the Bedine. They had asked Jace to help them hide and to deal with a clan of lizardfolk that were aggressive towards that. I offered him our aid, and we should figure out a way to deal with these lizards.
Jace also came to tell me that while he was out there, he stumbled upon an ancient temple that he believes was dedicated to a Sungod, perhaps an ancient home of Lathander? Though there were no modern symbols to tell him if it was or not. I have heard stories that the Bedine worship a Sun god as well. He told me that while he was there, a door appeared to him and compelled him towards it. When he reached out for the door, that is when he found himself inside this temple, though he was also surrounded by this strange black tar substance. It moved and tried to swallow him. He explains it like he felt like he was drowning, but he was able to escape thanks to the help of Veronika. He says she 'pulled him back out' of whatever trap he had fallen into, but he had managed to collect two things before he left. Some shards, and a sample of the black tar.
I took a look at both of these things, and both Jace and I felt some sort of power resonating within these shards. I took them, and together we conducted a divining ritual to see if I could learn more about where these shards came from, or the power held within. I was given a vision, of a magnificent city surrounded by jungles, with a large Temple in it dedicated to the sun. This temple housed a great stone or gem, the very same the shards had fragmented from. I believe this was some sort of powerful warding stone or perhaps one that gave off warmth and life.
However, soon my vision darkened. The city began to crumble, and destruction and chaos reigned. Things of shadow began to pour in from everywhere. The people living there did their best to hold back these dark creatures, but their magic was failing them. Soon only the Temple remained, putting up a valiant stand, but a giant wave of darkness came over and crashed down upon it. That is where my vision had ended.
Our halfling friend, Jojen appeared once more, seeming very concerned and asking what we did, what had happened. He claimed that he had placed a powerful ward once upon a time, but that it had failed and he was alerted. I can't quite remember how they are related, my head was still a bit fuzzy after the vision, but Jojen assured me that the Tablet he had given to Sunny the Druid for safe keeping was needed. The tablets are in a pair, and he has figured out a way to locate the other one which he believes to be lost in another realm.

We must find Sunny and bring her to Jojen.

I've asked Jace to help lead us back to this ancient Sun temple so that we may try and learn more about it.
-
We need to come up with a plan to deal with the lizardfolk.

@Lord_Acererak
We met with Sunny the druidess today. Theron and I quickly picked up on her not entirely trusting us. So we took her on a wild adventure through the mountains, accompanied by Argun. Nothing brings together good folk like good deeds, and we did plenty, all the while discussing ways to retrieve the tablet.She has been informed that she is to bring the tablet to Jojen, so we may prepare how to find the second piece, and she has agreed to this.
