The Murrain

@dracos said in Announcements by the Council of Twelve Peers:
All of you will have noticed the magical plague that has been cast on our city. The persons responsible are the Murrain, a cult of Talona who are mercenaries that serve Tilverton.
All members are now kill on sight, an any who aids or works with them will share in this fate. Rewarded for killing member of the Murrain shall be granted, through the details have yet to be formalised.
Let also many of you remember that Pierre "The Knight of Dishonour" Cambrian has spent his time in the Council of Twelve this week fighting against the bounty on them for the brutal ritual murder of Meg the halfling and Elora Everly and was willing to maim this paladin of Tyr and one of their number’s words alone.
This paladin of Lord Tyr expects he will make every excuse, but if Tilverton does not match the stance of the Crown on this cult, we will be more then slightly concerned about their loyalty.
Spellcasters, Arcane and Divine, make yourself known to the Palace, we have a magical plague to fight.
People be aware that paladins are immune to this sicknesses effects and divine magics to fight illness work fine.
Keep inside unless absolutely necessary and be aware that monsters have been seen to be spawning in the mists of this poison
More details will follow in the days to come.

The 12 has issued fresh bounty posters on the Murrain. Through minor investigation, I've discovered they unleashed a plague beast upon Arabel. I'm told the result of it was not catastrophic, merely enough to infect the elder and sickly with Talona's taint and send them to their graves.
I am seeking more accounts to determine if the ritual was a direct threat to the safety of our Realm, or a war between two sides in Arabel.
While the Seekers have stayed clean of this war, I fear that the Murrain's threat may grow too great to ignore.
Ultimately, I require your input before we act, for I require a consensus decision. In addition, more evidence could provide clarity to the matter.
My source is the Butler of Tilverton.

Is this the result of the wish granted by the djinn? I would like to see it in person.

@acemvi Uncertain as of yet.
Seekers we need input on this matter. An opportunity could present itself, we need know where we stand.

We could probably develop a curative if we managed to kill and dissect one of the creatures, if we wanted to involve ourselves without directly involving ourselves. This would be an acceptable course of action in my eyes.
Though I'm not against hunting them down if they did indeed poison an entire city- Even if it was to little (relative) effect.

They should be dealt with before more innocents are allowed to come to harm.

If they seek to endanger the realm with their reckless use of rituals and magic. We will do as we must, there are enough problems assaulting these lands.

They seem to reside in a swamp. Is it flammable?

Alistair, would it be wise for us to test the staff before using it on the Beholder?
