Barbarian King Thyme
-
Dressed in loose bedine robes and a a curious chain mask, the emissary delivers a message:
The Barbarian King Thyme has been approached by the warriors of Tilverton, who have extended an offer to allow him the lands if the Stone lands in exchange for his help in the war between you two.
In the interest of fairness, he has sent me to see if a more favorable outcome can be reached between us and the people of Eveningstar.
Be forewarned, our king is impressed by the strength of the Raven's butcher, as well as the chosen warrior of the Murrain. You will have to do much to claim that interest for yourselves.
I will make myself available for all proposals.
The messenger is set up in a humble quarter within the temple, and is on standby.... Let the bidding begin...

Good emissary of King Thyme,
The Ravens of Tilverton have indeed been busy, seeking others to fight their battles for them. Such men are very good at staying alive. But they usually do so, by using others as shields between them and the people they anger. The House of the Morning, fight their own battles. We welcome allies, and seek friendship, and treat our friends as if family, as part of our tribe. But we do not try and buy the loyalty of others, with that which is not ours.
The Stonelands are not ours to give. We can offer you food, trade and allies who will draw swords with you, like you were family. We will share our bounty with you, offer you a place by our fire. Your people will have full bellies, your warriors worthy causes that make heroes and sories of legend.
Your concerns and troubles will become ours, and we will do whatever we can for you.
We will send our priests to heal your wounds, share their wisdom and stories of A'tar with you. And we will help you fight your battles, as long as their purpose fills the sun with joy.If we tried to buy your loyalty, we would never have trust between us. If borrowed sand is what it takes for you to stand shoulder to shoulder with us, then we shall meet on the field of battle.
And if you wish to see great men fight, The Dawnhammer, Squire Theronand I will not leave you wanting.I am Evelyn by the way.

Emissary of the Barbarian King Thyme,
Greetings and fair dawn! Welcome to the lands of Eveningstar, and to the hospitality of the House of the Morning! You may be interested to know that your King's reputation proceeds him, for I have already heard news of you!
The Barbarian King Thyme, wanted criminal of Tilverton for Banditry and theft of their lands.
Hahahahaha!
It seems those people in Tilverton are not so strong after all as they must rely on others help to bring your King in! I have also heard news that they wish to strike a deal with you, to aid them in this conflict against us. How ridiculous! I have personally already bested this "Raven's Butcher" you speak of in front of many and relish the day I may test my strength against your King's own!
Our leaders are fearless and our people strong!
We are nine hundred, but it is we who declared war on Tilverton's twenty thousand! And yet they still seek more reinforcements? What cowards!
It is we who have already bested this "Butcher" in a duel!Should you join our foes, we will fight you all the same! You ask for proposals? I ask you, do you really wish to align yourselves with such weaklings whom cannot even defend their own Stonelands?
No! Join us. Let us worship the sun and grow prosperous together!

Word from the Barbarian King:
"I have heard your pretty words, and they ring honorable to my ears, though they promise nothing but glory. You are perhaps too truthful. Indeed, it sounds as if it would be better for my people to side with the Duke's forces. Safer, with less bloodshed, with an Ally who isn't above paying gold and riches to get what they want.
However, I am eager to see you fight. The Murrain's chosen nearly bested me in battle, thanks to his powerful wands and brews; indeed, were it not my own powerful brew I'd not likely have beaten him.
I propose this. Pick a champion. If they impress me in battle, I will consider you on the same terms as the Ravens of Tilverton, who have offered me much the same as you: pretty words and lands I already own... With the added caveat of "all the riches of Eveningstar."
If however, you manage to best me... As a barbarian I would be honorbound to aid you in your doomed war.
I do not lose easily however."
So speaks the Barbarian King.

You will have to forgive us, Barbarian King Thyme.
Understandably, there is little more to offer you aside from the generic offerings of food, glory, and riches, until we know what it is -you- want. I look forwards to our meeting!

Our meeting with the Barbarian King unfortunately was not successful. However, it wasn't all for naught! We have discovered this Barbarian King's weakness and seek to return to him once more. Utilizing this weakness, we should be able to bring him into submission to aid Eveningstar's efforts.
