Alts and Brewing: The Economy, Metagaming, and You
-
I already NEVER buy potions from a PC brewer unless they have them on their bodies because I hate making them waste their time making potions. If there were an XP cost I would NEVER EVER buy from a PC brewer EVER again because I want to spare some level 11 brewer the sheer agony of losing even a single point of XP.
Seriously, I am much happier paying my 330 for a Haste than waiting on some brewer who may or may not forget my order or get the math wrong or 'have to rest.'

Brewing is a massive pita as it stands with no xp loss, and I reckon I could talk some brewers into coming onto a perma death quest co-run by strife and spiffy sooner then I could get them to fulfill large 100+ potion orders if xp loss was put back in. If that is desired however, either to drive players to use npc stores where dms can control cost of consumables and as a result cost/reward of quests, or some other design reason then its worth discussing.

TBH, I wish our brewing system was Not a pita

Brewing is already enough of a hassle without putting the XP cost back in.
You have to:
- Have the right recipes (items that only drop on quests)
- Have the appropriate crafted items (Cauldrons)
- Spend a butt ton of time you could spend elsewhere doing other things.
I question the sanity of someone who makes a brewing alt, because it's a timesink. You people are insane.

Yes brewing already is a pain. I doubt I'd ever make a crafter again if the xp cost went back in.
