General opinion and discussion on Alt/s

I'd warn you first.
It is explained in the rules though.
Under Metagaming, which involves using information your character couldn't/shouldn't know. This will happen if you play one character in one faction, and another in another faction that's opposing them. Imagine if one of those characters became the target of an assasination attempt from the other group, and they tell your character about it, perhaps even offer him the contract of killing your 'alt'
People can try all they want to not use information found out on other characters, but it is just far too crazy to expect to be able to completely separate two characters from opposing groups.
Small example. Someone plays a character in Group A:
They find a secret place and Group A begin learning it's secrets.
Suddenly, their character from Group B, 'Stumbles across' the same secret place. (This has happened so many times I really can't begin to count it)
It just gets ridiculous, and it should be entirely obvious that playing characters in multiple groups is just silly.

I concur it is silly, but it's kinda like punishment before the wrongs done.
-
The crimes have already been committed though. Players have cheated in this way, and they will again. People can have alts, they just can't, and shouldn't, be allowed in factions.
-
I recalled the rule to be about DM factions.
There are only PC factions now, but I didn't think rules on PC factions have changed.Anyway. Can someone link where this rule is, please?

Thank you. I have indeed read this a while before. My bad.
