He finds no one selling Maztican silver, which is silver from Maztica, in the library. Oddly, no one selling Maztican silver is advertising Maztican silver for sale in library books either-almost as if, if you can believe it, Maztican silver can't be found in libraries!
A kindly librarian suggests he may want to go check with various merchants.
