1. Its free.
2. Chicks play it.
3. Getting your first quarda kill (killing four people consecutively) is like orgasming.
4. Easy to play, hard to master.
5. Its better than Diablo 3.1. Bonus, but I have unlimited money for games that I like/need.
2. I'm married, not only do I not need computer gamer chicks, but I also don't want any to give me sinful ideas. x-D
3. That sounds fun.
4. That sounds more fun.
5. Not saying much at this point. -
Someone -pro- PM me an instruction guide on how to enjoy this game.
I don't want wikis, tech specs, any of that bullshit. I want someone telling me how this game is f'in bad ass in lamen's terms like they would tell their IRL friends who haven't touched it. I wanna know the entire point, the match (or game) break down, and how it can get fun for someone completely and horribly newb until the time they're not that way. Or something.
TL;DR - convince me to play this game without sounding like an annoying World of Warcraft poo-stain.
The game has a matchmaking system that tries to match your team against a team of the same approximate skill level (sometimes there will be a team member with a much higher skill level than you), so when you start as noob, you play against other noobs. When you are experienced enough (level 30) to start playing ranked games, you are matched with people even closer to your skill level.
It's a huge transition though from regular games to ranked. You think you are doing pretty good in the normal games, then when you finally start ranked it's like a whole new ball game and skill level.
I think one of the things that really drew me to this vs other free to play games is that you don't need to spend money to advance. If you spend money, it's just on customizations that give your characters different animations.

The MOBA genre is a highly competitive one. In LoL, specifically, you will not be blamed for many lowbie mistakes and some general derp in the low levels. Everyone is either noob or on smurf (side-accounts) accounts and trolling. The real game begins at around level 20, when you should start buying the tier 3 runes and setting masteries, and customising your heroes early game. Positions are fairly simple to learn due to a rather strict ideal on the 'metagame', basically your mages take solo mid lane, bruisers/fighters top, ranged fighters and a support/healer bottom lane and a jungler, who kills neutral creeps for gold/XP and 'ganks' other lanes to give your team the advantage.

#2 was optional to get your wife to play it, or just find a better one. :3

My wife is good enough, she just doesn't like games. On the same token, I'm glad she doesn't make me garden, can, or cook.

Alright, so the first game has been played, and the Tournament is underway. Check the website for the replays! This time, we will expand the available times throughout the whole week and hopefully get the round one of the group stages down and dusted. Teams who have yet to play, use this to select your preferrable times -
Just select your timezone, available times, and punch in your Summoner Name + Team name. With any luck, we'll keep the ball rolling.
Cheers.

So…. whats going on? been practicing my Roamadinger for this eager to put it in the tournament.
-
Nothing is going on thats what. 2 Free sundays passed, no game. Just wanna play Yava's team, then I done.
-
Well I guess bad breakfast crew is no more… since like BG and Ace vanished. guess we need a new team?
-
Yes. This can be done. We can even do it this sunday. Just need Yava to get his team together. And we just merge in with The POTM team.
-
If I vanished, I'd have taken the world with me. No idea where BG is though.
-
Probably playing the Guild Wars 2 beta
-
BG? No. Most likely in jail for stealing cellphones. Maybe on parole now with a house arrest stipulation of no internet or social media devices.
-
Sorry for not being able to schedule another AoA match this past week. I'm in the middle of relocating right now. Just drove nearly 3000 miles… Currently searching for a place to live. Hopefully I'll have internet next week so we can schedule the next match.

Does this mean my team wins? This seems dead.

I am currently on dial up at the moment and can't seem to update the client without crashing. I should have a proper connection within the next week. The problem with this little venture was organisation. It was difficult, to say the least. There were some really good teams in the actual competition but people went missing, I had a sudden spike of drama in my life that has taken up most of my time and energy, and finding a decent time for at least 10 different people across three or more timezones was just a very draining excercise.

Not really, there were other matches or at least part of them. Arelith and RoTR had a very close game a few weeks ago that was fun to watch, made me wish this was actually easier to move along with just to see how these teams matched up. I'm willing to revise the competition with the teams willing to play, and perhaps, make it alot shorter than intended with a tangible prize..
I'm thinking Torchlight 2.

We'll see you all here in Seattle?
I really have gotten a shot of the PAX after-party poster with the burlesque girl stormtroopers instead now that I think of it.
