Twig on Twig exploit
-
If you use a Twig on a Twig to start a campfire, you get both twigs back.
-
@toportime was it a single twig on another single twig? Two different stacks? One twig on a stack of twigs?
Need more information.
-
@Strife-and-Discord I literally put one twig on the ground, then used another twig activation on it to start a fire. The campfire was created and both twigs were sitting next to it.
-
lol why didn’t you just use both of them in your own inventory? There is no reason to put one down on the ground. That is likely what is causing it.
(Will look at this edge case)
-
@Strife-and-Discord Did you seriously ask whey I didn't try to start a campfire in my inventory? I always put one twig on the ground and use flint to light it, I did this event to test making a fire with two twigs rather than using flint and reported it as it seems "too good to be true" to start a fire with nothing.

Unable to recreate. Tried all the various scenarios.
The only case where there might be a glitch is if you put a stack of twigs on the ground and use another twig or Flint on them, it gives you the illusion like none of them were taken but if you retrieve the item back into your pack its gonna be one less twig(I.E you use one twig on a stack of 2 twigs that are on the ground - The one in your inventory gets destroyed and it looks like when you examine the item on the ground that it still has 2 twigs - But when you take them back into your pack only 1 is added). This is an engine issue and unrelated to the system itself, so there is no exploit unless I can be provided with step by step guide on how to recreate.
To prevent this edge case players will now be forced to have the twig/firewood in their pack(AKA holding it in their hands) and will be prevented from building a campfire in this way. Their flint charge will also be restored if they used a flint this way.
Will be live in version 20241123 Strife 8620.
