With the coffers of widows and orphans secured by the Council of Twelve, despite its potential to be used for other means, the Queen Regnant has ensured the children and mourners of Arabel are not left empty handed. Schools are heavily funded by the spoils of war, temple orphanages kept small thanks to the rising popularity of adoption, whilst cripples and war veterans enjoy a well deserved reward, most of it spent at the local pubs.
Still, coin does not heal scars, of which there are plenty. The destruction of the defenses in the North weigh heavy upon many, as Countess Drakebane prepares the long journey of cleansing the ruins of Tilverton.
