Elemental Shard
-
A friend of mine, Lord Brady, hosted an auction at his estate in the Kings Plaza last night. The auction, ran by a Mister Olius Septume, was auctioning an Elemental Shard of Water, amongst other curiosities.
I am told the auction was ambushed by undead and the gem stolen. The undead used an old delivery tunnel which ran beneath the city linking the estate to the southern road.
Lord Brady suffered casualties to his staff.
If undead covet this gem I want to know why and how we can recover it and thwart whatever plans may be afoot.

A group ventured to the volcano yesterday, in search of a fire shard i presume.
Many fire giants and elementals slain later, we discovered some sort of communication device that at one point showed us the visage of a being named Emyra if memory serves. He is a fire giant, presumably this clan's leader. Most significantly he wore about his neck a pendant that several of our number believe to be the fire shard, sibling to this water shard that was stolen.
I will of course seek to follow this lead, but without some sort of divination to located the shard or the giant bearing it itwill fall to blind luck or perseverence in scouring the lands for his domicile.

Adrian of the Crown Guard, hired the Skulls to find the giant and the gem. A necromancer called the Castilian stole the first gem and is after the second. They are searching the ruins, looking for clues of where to find his ancient castle. Likely the Stonelands, if the Crown Guard is right.

Then we have a direction to wander. Call on me.

Glendur and me went with the group that were after the Fire Stone. Skulls were about a 1/4 of us that went. Important thing s the gem be in Crown hands and not the Skulls.

The crown guard mage holds it i believe. Alex?
Glendur
-
Aye he does. Though the more I think on it, the more likely I be thinking the Castlen will be thinking to grab it from him. Unless he thinks it is better to let the Crown find the last two then steal them all at once.

I travelled to the jagged peaks fo the stormhorns with one of Mordecai's house but found nothing significant regarding the shards in our travels. We will need ot search elsewhere i fear.
I believe that we gained some knowledge of one another though.

We looked without success in the caves called Queen's and King's Abyss.

Once more i gathered a group to go to the mountains, Alistar of the crown guard and Landric once more turned out.
We made our way to the highest peak, above the ancient frozen dwarven fortress and there found frost giants protecting a passage beneath their altar. Within many creatures that were identified as belonging in the underdark, some a challenge to us others a hinderance. All were ventually vanquished and before a fading portal something was retrieved.
We suspect it might be the earth shard but it is not clear, it might be a rune stone used to activate the portal, the crown's man took the stone and aims to investigate its magical properties.
Both he and Landric ahve cited that they would use the shards combined in some way to overcome the salted blight that remains in the west, how they would achieve this i am not yet privy, but it seems a worthy mission.

The Skulls have betrayed us to the Castellan, they assaulted Adrian and took the shards he holds from him. I wish that he had passed one to me as i suggested to him, but his hubris and self confidence appears to be our undoing.
The shards, i believe, have now been combined and used to raise a city from beneath the sands to fly across the skies like the ancient citadels of Netheril.
If this flying citadel leaves the region then i would consider us fortunate, however we must plan for the worst and consider how we might bring it back to earth and destory the undead that rules it.
Adrian is developing a plan using Aunumator's relics to power some sort of holy explosion to bring the undead to their knees, to do this we will need to fly to the citadel. Again some sort of plan is emerging to use the essence of air to carry us there but details reside only in vague thoughts at the moment.
