Project: Rat Removal

I wish to conduct research on the history of the city in the smuggling tunnels beneath the city.
Word reaches my ears that a sizable number of lycans and rats serving some "Rat Queen" have made their nests there.
This simply will not do.
I believe it may be possible to enhance the potency of evocation spells using essence that can be harvested from them.
For example with air elemental essence it should be possible to enhance a gust of wind spell to carry a large amount of poison to wreck havoc on the nests and fire elemental essence may empower fire spells such as a fireball to explode with more potency on vermin nests.
Over the next few days I will lead expeditions into the tunnels to search for nests. No doubt removing the vermin would earn many accolades for the Crown Guard

I led an expedition to the scarred glade and obtained essence from fire elementals. I will head to the stormhorns in search of air elemental essence and then begin searching for the rat nests.

An expedition yesterday to the spotters peak obtained some air elemental essence.
I believe that combined with vials of poison and distributed via gust of wind spells through the two protruding pipes in the tunnels this should cull weaker rats and drive others to the open.
Nests of them can then be targeted using evocations fuelled by water and fire essences.
I'll enquire with Elsa if she can make poisons. If not I expect spider venom sacks from the webbed maze will suffice

I would put more faith in poison that you acquire yourself than poison granted from the church of Talona or its immediate followers. They have been utilizing the rats to their advantage for months, now, to ingratiate themselves to the city as protectors, and though I have no solid evidence of direct wrongdoing, I feel there is enough to suggest they have at least acted opportunistically.
Although I did not find sufficient evidence to link Elsa to the were-rats directly she has capitulated to them more than once and may give your game away to them if pressed by them to do so.

I have obtained venom glands from spiders from an expedition led to the haunted halls and aiding this fellowship of the round table deal with a tribe of orcs that also herded spiders.
I believe we have all that is needed to begin removing these rats

Further venom has been obtained from dire spiders and a massive necromantic spider encountered on an isle in the wyvernwater.
This should be more than suffcient with what has already been accquired to fill both protuding pipes and blow the gasses through with a gust of wind empowered with air elemental essence.

Would you happen to know any alchemists who could work potent venom glands and extract it into a more liquid form?
Also where in the Smuggling tunnels were you meant to detonate the alchemical mixture on the operation before?
I understand circumstances meant you had to use it prematurely.
I would test my theory at the correct location
