Report: Expedition Under
-
I went on an adventure, something I'm not often doing recently. The events as I saw them, and as they occurred.
Kalil called for help in plundering the ruins underneath the City. I was planning on doing something else, but when confronted with the fact that we would be slaying undead, I agreed. With us were Great Druid Greg, Faryn Lorret, Mikul Vect, Sellsword Bron, and Clark Skinner. Of course there was myself and Kalil, who called for the expedition. The Great Druid and Faryn were separated to start, leaving five of us.
So it was that we exitted the City and went to the smuggling tunnels, venturing with Kalil to a designated point. Kalil sprayed acid on some of the remaining statuary as we passed it, until we came to a room of red and blue gas. Kalil stated that if we did not venture into it we 'had too much left to lose'. He then proceeded to chant in Alzhedo, causing shadows to consume him and take him elsewhere, along with Clark.
When we went off to find them, Greg and Faryn appeared once more and assisted the effort. Bron got himself lost, while we eventually found our way to Clark. Rot found his way down there as well, much to my disdain. We fought some undead along the way, none of particular note. After finding Kalil elsewhere, fallen, we returned to the room of fog. Greg attempted to cleanse the room of the fog, but the crude construction and old airways made the fog blow back at us, making us all become lost again.
We fought ghoulish entities that required dismemberment to fully destroy, joining up by ones and twos. Eventually we found Kalil talking to a hooded, shadowy robed figure. a "father vampire" of sorts. He was obsessing over a tomb of some interest while Kalil wandered closer to him, eventually leading to Kalil being stroked by him, much like a pet.
Greg took great exception to the vampire's existence, producing a stake and preparing to slay him, when the vampire leapt into the darkness of the caverns deep. Then Kalil produced shadows and attempted to escape, not getting far before being stopped by myself, Mikul, and Faryn. A great spectral knight attacked us then, with Greg taking his primal form to combat it. Bron, technically hired by Kalil despite not being paid, fought in his defense as well, but was winded by Mikul and Faryn.
After this fight we attempted to bind Kalil, but we were again set upon by undead, again more of the ghouls from earlier. Some of them were able to summon shadows to blind us, which is more of a detriment to some more than others. Kalil attempted to flee during this chaos by being invisible, but Clark had bound him by the fight ended. There were also some skeletons to harass us, but these were simple to end.
On our attempt to leave some of us weren't quite as fortunate, with Rot and Faryn coming with me down to the undercaverns. Bron had said there was a hydra in evidence, so instead of remaining we had to leave. Unfortunately between us and the exit was a horde of shadows as haunt some houses in the city. While the fight wasn't particularly hard, it was a problem to try and cleaving through them all, so Faryn was forced to use something or another to fireball the lot of them, with me in the center.
Finally free of them, we followed Faryn's lead back to the sewers, meeting up with Clark. He claimed that Mikul and Greg were dead, presuming Kalil must be as well. He fled by leaping away from danger or some such nonsense, as I stopped listening at some point he insisted that Rot's fine was paid in flesh (and not to the Palace). I instead went to look for them myself and see the bodies, recover them if at all possible. Instead I found them at the temple to Tymora, attempting to bring Bron back with a miracle.
They recounted that Kalil had in fact been allowed to flee by the undead that had assailed them, with Bron being somewhat out of sorts due to his resurrection. We then spent some time discussing what had happened in the company of the High Preistess of Tymora, who didn't seem amused by our assumptions that Kalil was enthralled by this vampire or had formed a pact with him. After this we all eventually went our own ways, with Rot being escorted by Clark through the City.
The salient point to be made about this report is the incriminating behaviors and actions of both the undead and Kalil in this incident; even if he is not enthralled he is clearly in league with the "father vampire" underneath the City. Working with undead even if not controlling them himself.

Concerning.
I believe Kalil wants to make an alliance with some of these vampires against the Emerald Lord, believing this Emerald Lord an affront to Shar as it seeks to corrupt Shadows.
I will share the intial report with the Greywatch and discuss the best course of action

Let it play out. What do we have to lose? The two vampires have not been a problem, the emerald lord is a huge one. Why not let two wolves fight each other, than us trying to fight both. We can fight whomever win.

If this matter was actually concerning then it wouldn't have taken two tenday for any response to be made.
