A proposal of how the Council shall thrive and function going forward
-
Fellow members of the Council,
With some resemblance of truce and balance restored, I pen this missive, hoping to bring us together, and move this council forward.
Since it became the Twelve, this Council has been one of division, not of unity. You all brought your politics and self-motivated agendas into this council, and spend more time fighting each other, than fighting together against our common foes.
Without purpose, one’s freedom can become shackles. I joined this council, not to discuss politics, but to find the necessary tools to do good to others. Most of you, it seems, became part of the council to force your own agenda’s upon the city.
I believe there can be a balance.
Currently, we have many enemies and mysteries to solve, to protect the people:- A beholder hiding in the Helmlands
- Slaad spilling out of Tethguard
- The Scarlet Dragons, doing nefarious deeds in the shadows
- These nightmares, and whatever is causing them
- Active orc tribes in the Kings Forest
- Keeping a close eye on Tilverton, the ugly cousin of the Kingdom
- Bringing safety to the streets of the city
- Abominations rising from the sewers
- Deadwell and the threat to Bospir
- Purple Dragon activities in the Kings Forest
- The undead plague on South Horn
- Finding out what happened to that Green Dragon that plagued the lands
- Cleaning up the Black Tower
- Keeping the trade routes safe, so the caravans can move to and from Arabel
So I propose the following:
- Each councilor picks one or two threats, which fit your personal interests, and will please whomever is sponsoring you, and take charge!
- Inform the council of the progress, whether you need assistance, and if so, what we can do
- If two councilors find a shared interest, you can either work together, or you can see who the best problem solver is, and outshine one another. Friendly competition never hurt anyone, and will please Tymora, the Benefactor of Arabel
If you still feel a hatred or dislike for each other, then do the civil thing, and hire spies on each other, forge secret alliances and what have you. But keep the sanctity of this Council free of political games. Here we fight as one. The King demands it. The people need it. And Tymora favors it.

From the Deadwell entrance in BospirPs. As an example of friendly competition. The Precepts and the Greywatch both wish dominion and authority on crimes magical. Find the evidence that proves the Scarlet Dragons are indeed criminals. For they are very much magicians, all of them. Prove it, and then bring them in, showing you are the best suited to do just that. Whomever succeeds, claims the authority, with support from a well informed Council.
