Discussion: Attack of the Black Tribe Base
-
This is as much to drum up support for the attack is it is to highlight why now is the time. What many of you did not see during the defense of the Redwood is the detachment deployed to destroy the Black Tribe’s supplies in their base while we defended the Redwood.
The detachment was successful, forcing the Black Tribe to choose between sending their entire host against the Redwood or split their number to respond to the fire at their backs- their innumerable host was a disadvantage in this regard and it was exploited appropriately; weakening their attack and ensuring success of our defense while also setting them up for their own destruction.
While we are still not entirely sure of the complete defense design of the Black Tribe base, we can assume some simple truths:
- The White Witch will seek to regather her forces and re-enforce them.
- Their warlord is injured.
- The prime warband and most cherished fighters are dead or injured.
- Their supplies are drastically reduced if not outright destroyed, making them open to our baits.
- The Witch may realize what we are doing but be unable to muster a proper response yet.
Our monumental advantage has a time limit. If they are allowed to heal and regroup, this will have been for nothing and we will start this process all over again, waiting for them to target something important with them being wiser to our designs. We cannot allow this.
I need to know we’re on the same tract on this, if we are not then we will act in disarray and people will die and our advantage will be squandered. Thus, I put it before the Council: we need to forward the attack and crush the Black Tribe’s ability to fight.
This strategy will only work once, you can't repeat it and expect your adversary to fall for it again. We will not get another chance like this. We will face resistance, it will be hard fought and our own advantages will have to be counted in kind, but I think I have some ideas how we could maximize our approach based on what we saw in the Redwood.
If there is accord, I will draw plans. If not, I will hear dissent. But we must decide now and act.

So then Intel is no longer needed? The supplies were destroyed?

Scale,
Intel will be valuable, even a cursory look through their base now would still get us valuable insights into their disposition and how we might exploit it. Your preparations are not for nothing, if you can muster a force please do so. You will have any support you desire.

This plan is no longer necessary, the Black Tribe Warlord was defeated and slain, the remnants of the tribe broken or destroyed.
The Great Druid may have more information on this, I was not present much to my deep dismay.

A Warlord was slain, yes.
A Camp of a Black Tribe? We are not certain it is gone. This must be confirmed.
If it remains standing, but is emptied, we would see it investigated. Perhaps they have left clues behind.
And also, it should be looked into with great care. They may have left traps behind for us to step into.- Children of the Redwoods
