Incident Report – White Horde Activity on the Dragon Trail

Near the already corrupted druidic monument outside of the city on the Dragon Trail, a group of kobolds performed a ritual behind wooden barricades that blocked the roads. To what ends this ritual was taking place isn’t known, the goals and designs of it seem alien to all who witnessed it.

Naiva put out a sending warning of the danger as I had just been getting into town, they then gathered whomever they could find and we went to investigate to find the road between Hillmarch and Slingdyke where we found fire engulfing the area.

After managing to put it out with aid from our summons, we began investigating and- in typical fashion- when Eldon attempted to parse the magic involved in the fire and charred remains of the kobolds, he was hit with the now painfully familiar blast of the Witch’s magic. Perhaps because of the size and scale of what was being done here carried through all of us. It hurt like hell but not as bad as doing the investigation oneself. I can only suppose this is a side effect of the number of participants (theirs and ours?) or some other unknown factor.

Nothing seems to have changed in the area, but it seems possible this was a test in preparation for more powerful magics, or to see what could be done with the kobolds. I remain unsure of what to make of it.
