Ogres and a talking stone head
-
Last night I investigated rumors of missing adventures with a group in the Hullack. Among our group was Elrond, a mage of some sort who had a stone head. This head, according to a wizard with us, spoke ancient dwarvish. The only word he could decipher was “enemies.” Should any member of the council speak dwarvish or know a trustworthy translator, we might learn the designs of whoever created this strange object.
In the Hullack, we found blood and the bones of one adventurer near tracks leading deeper into the forest. Then there was a goblin eating the remains of an adventurer outside a cave. Inside the cave we found many more adventurer corpses and encountered particularly nasty goblins and a few ogres. After dispatching the leader of the group, an ugly ogre, we found more dead adventures and no survivors to interrogate.
I am unsure if any of this is related to the black tribe or the white horde, but the cooperation between goblins and ogres is concerning.

This is an interesting situation, if nothing else!
From what I've seen and read about, goblins are often enslaved by ogres to perform various tasks, so it may not be too surprising to see them working together. That doesn't mean they're not enthralled as well, but them being seen together isn't unexpected or unusual.
Small mercy, but still a damn strange encounter. Anyone else have some ideas?

A strange thing indeed that the stone head talks! Could be some sort of "Magic Mouth" spell?

We do not think this was related to a Black Tribe However, the stone head is intriguing. The mageling mentioned he found it in old ruins beneath the city.
