LunaticHigh/Mindira Scalecrusher/Tower of Raubagaush Baton
1). Race/Class/Alignment/Level/Name of Character
Gnome
Paladin? Fallen Paladin?
Lawful Neutral at the moment due to falling.
8
Mindira Scalecrusher
2). What specific perk(s) (subrace, faction, etc)
Faction: Tower of Raubagaush as a Baton in service to Ivo Valente.
Aspiration to become a Blackguard depending on the actions of the Black Tower.
3). A general outline of goals, plans, or storylines to pursue
Goal #1: Protect and serve Ivo as his guardian. Mindira truly admires and loves Ivo even if he has coldly rejected her in the past. She wants to impress him(and everyone else)by becoming dead serious and making as big an impact on the world as possible.
Goal #2: Assist the Black Tower in sundering the Wall of the Faithless. Mindi has been lead to believe that she can save millions of souls from endless torment by Rastaban’s logic and words. She sees Mynae’s death as a noble sacrifice for the Greater Good of the realms and will continue to take on dark sacrifices and burdens in order to achieve this idea. She thinks this is a worthy pursuit compared to endlessly killing kobolds and goblins.
Goal #3: By virtue of being associated with evil and consorting with evil beings, at some point I think she would make a good candidate for the Blackguard prestige class. Depending on how much they push Mindi to commit evil will tell if this will be possible. She already sacrificed one of her friends and Paladin-hood to pursue the Greater Good.
Storyline:
Early on, she failed miserably as a Paladin. She couldn’t kill a kobold in single combat in front of a large gathering. She also did not act when Claus took a pact with a demon.
Her faith in herself has always been flimsy. She feels lost and confused as to what she should do without divine guidance. Despite being in the Sapphire Order, she was still alone and without aim.
Rastaban has given her a new purpose and direction. Instead of culling kobolds, she will save millions of souls and achieve other acts of Greater Good that she most likely would not have been able to achieve on her own.
She does not view herself as evil, although she understands that what she has done is a lesser evil. She now believes that the Black Tower mages, while on the surface appear to be monsters, are actually good and wise and are misunderstood in what they do and stand for. -

Yes!

I vote yes, if the meeting with the Sapphire Order NPC allows this. I've told Lunatic I'm available whenever, I want to give him an IC chance to decide his fate for good.
So holding off until its done.
-
Changing my vote to no. The meeting suggests this won't make sense ultimately for her; She appears to be deeply conflicted IC about going Tower or re-earning paladin.
Having a liability in the Tower isn't something the Archmage would permit for very long, especially if it was obvious she still had loyalties to non-Tower interests, IMO.
-
Voted yes. ICly it makes sense that the tower would accept her after she aided them behind the scenes.
Whether it makes sense for her PC to accept joining, I leave up to the player.

Works for me. If she joins however she is forever done as a Paladin. There is no redemption possible. Tower is openly evil and while you can make a mistake and fall, this is consciously committing yourself to working with evil and turning your back on your oath.
Cool as hell but the player needs to completely understand what this means.
edit: Mindi is a she not a he. My bad.
-
Yes, I can talk to him since I've been proactive on this one.

That.
I'm voting Yes for the possibility of joining if he should or shouldn't is a completely different story.

In that case, yeah, sure, I suppose. I suppose I misunderstood it.
Still, this should be interesting given she's been approached by her order over it.
