DM Plot Faction: Halflings and Shit

Hey guys, you might have heard confirmation/rumor/possibilities/vague rumors of epic loot involving a halfling dm plot.
Well, there is one and it's ready to launch. We're hoping to launch it sometime next weekend in the beginning of June.
Some details:
The plot is planned to last 1-2 months at most. You may continue your PC after the faction is over, but it's recommended you retire with the group.
This plot may involve PvP, it is really up to the pcs as to whether they prove to be antagonists or not to your people.
Those who wish to start in the plot will be inhabitants of a village that is nestled between the Thunderpeaks and Cormyr, in a corner of the unexplored Wailing Fog, on the foothills of the Thunderpeaks. It's ambiguous as to whether Cormyr or Queen Brita has authority over the village, and will be a part of the conflict for the village.
You were once traveling gypsies/merchants for the better part of 600 years, and then settled in a hidden valley/ravine in the foothills of the Thunderpeaks, and sealed the entrance of the valley roughly 1000 years ago. You only possess a vague understanding of the world outside the village. A prelude will illuminate the circumstances of your discovery to the world.
The village is basically the Shire, with a lawful good Matriarchal Council with the eldest females from each of the families governing day to day affairs. The council is traditionally led by the High Priest of Yondalla. Male members of the council are rare, not unheard of, however. Basically, it's a very communal structure and property is shared as needed and by and large handled fairly without theft. It's basically a very prosperous village, self-sufficient in what it needs, and excess luxury is often frowned on (though there is no such thing as too much food for a feast).
This is where you guys are roughly at geographically.Basic history:
You were part of the halfling diaspora roughly 1600 years ago, sickened by the Ghost Wars, you left the homelands of the halfling people and journeyed roughly for 600 years before settling in the village. The Militia are known as the Grass Cutters, and maintain dutiful patrols and drive off the occasional goblin/orc/kobold raid, but your people have never suffered any real military or monstrous hardship.
The village contains maybe 200-500 people. Council consists of 10 members, all presently female. Village outlook is very much lawful good, but more down to earth- not holier than thou. Crime is rare, and when it occurs rehabilitation is the focus, not punishment. Those who cannot be rehabiliated are given a house away from the village and everything they need until the behavior improves. If they continue to cause trouble, they are forced to remain in doors under guard.
Your pcs would be answering the call to adventure issued by the council- though the task won't be disclosed quite yet until the day of the prelude.
