Due to the DM running this plot being on hiatus as he focusses on real life and such, consider the orc war has moved to the periphery of civilized society and is no longer as great a concern, requiring heroes only to combat the occasional warband.
As for the dwarves, consider you guys are searching for the paragon, but thunderholme is rebuilding itself slowly but steadily.
