History of the Nobles of Cormyr. Vol. XXI: The Dracohorns
An old, leather bound book, that, despite being covered in dust, seems to be in good condition.
Upon the spine and the cover are the words:
"History of the Nobles of Cormyr. Volume XXI: The Dracohorns"The first few pages are blank, other than the author's name:
"Hanthen Willowspit" and the publish date "1360 DR"In 245 DR, a middling family living in Suzail discovered that their youngest son was a great and noble warrior. Though this family had noble blood already, they were not widely known or respected at the court. They claimed some distant connections to more established families such as the Skatterhawks and Wintersuns–but it was this year that they gained great notoriety and elevate them to true nobility.
Keolan Dracohorn was then, in a sense, the founder of this noble line, and earned the family name by killing a blue dragon at Soldier's Green (now Jester's Green). The deeds of the battle were related in great detail by the disheveled hero when he returned to his family home, he had met the beast in solitary battle while out training for militia duty. His heroism drew the attention of the King, and he was quickly elevated to the peerage and made an officer in the Purple Dragon Army.
Centuries later, members of the Dracohorn family fought with Arangor and Azoun II against Thauglor in 1018 DR. The family had by now cemented their reputation as brave and courageous warriors and dragon-hunters. An occupation that few others have the courage for, but has been in their blood since the days of Keolan. This courage served Omalra Dracohorn well when he fought at the side of King Duar in 432 against Magrath the Minotaur who had purchased Suzail from the cowardly Melineth Turcassan for five-hundred sacks of gold. Though the gold was never recovered, many have searched for centuries knowing the coins were each stamped with the likeness of a minotaur's head when they were given to the pirate Magrath.
Today, the family is headed by Ondrin Dracohorn, he has rapidly increased the family's wealth. His main source of wealth are his busy fleets in Marsember and Suzail. He has strongly denied the many gossips spread about him by jealous rivals, including that he engages in smuggling and the slave trade. The only true fault that can be associated with this man is that he affects to wear numerous medallions that resemble, but are not exactly identical to, knightly badges of honor and merit from the Purple Dragon Army--in which he never served.
Scrawled in the margins is the following "Ondrin Dracohorn, died 1369 a victim of the Cormaerils. Aldeth Draconhorn, exiled 1372 for attempted assassination of Alusair."

Lord Stallahast Dracohorn is now the patriarch of the house. In 1394, he came to Arabel, on the heels of his youngest son.
