Changes to PrCs: Feedback
-
What are your thoughts on the changes to the mechanics of the PrCs? Are we going to see some really cool concepts coming our way (Wizard / Blackguard, anyone?) Has anyone given anything like that some thought?
-
The mechanical requirements of PrCs restricted their use to certain classes, certain builds. You had to grind to take silly feats or put points in places where it doesn't make sense to. I think it's a huge step forward and I am very, very glad this is being put in. It just opens up so much more possibilities.
-
I assume the PrC still requires a approved application?
-
Best thing to happen for a long time. Opens up many possibilities. More options = more creativity.
Epic.
-
Should lead to more interesting and weapon flavored weapon masters for a start, likewise we might see blackguards which aren't strength based!
Just keep one eye on build to avoid powerbuilds of doom!

Correct. In the past people have been offered PrCs due to being really stellar, and that option is always available
-
Best…idea...ever.
Now people taking things like dragon disciple could realistically be able to reach the end of that goal, and people taking blackguard don't need to have the ability to hide......(what?)
I love the idea that PRC's should be earned rather than built for.

This is the best change to the server since Abby's loot switch.
A thought for adding flavor - would it be possible to extrapolate the Dwarven Defender PrC to be more of a (Race) Defender class instead? Someone who is a paragon of that race? A Half-Orc Defender would be boss, though I should think Human Defender would be a bit silly.

Breach gnomes!!!

Goes hand in hand with the hidden player levels now on the server…Granted its a lil late, but better now than never for both changes.
-
But it also needs to be watched, with the requirements removed it could create some very OP characters.
-
Very happy with it. Brings back some potential plots on characters I've come up with.
-
Sounds good to me. I'm going to roll up a halfling monk/weapon master from Amn, who is seeking perfection through the unrestricted use of dandelion wine in his pork recipes.
-

This is a non factor. Characters can be Op as they want. If they deserved the app acception and PRC combo, won't matter.

I agree to the above. If they have power, it's because they earned it.

I agree to the above. If they have power, it's because they earned it.
Or because they can write apps.
What i really would hate to see is more of the current trend you know grind your ass off to 7+then start pvping ..only now you can do it as a WM or a FTR/PM. -
You dont get prestige classes simply by writing apps. You have to earn them in game (then write an app) so…. No.
-
How could you possibly know that? I don't think thats the 'current trend' at all.
And applications are decided on far more than its 'writing'. Player history, past characters, any occurances of grievances or disputes are put into account as well I'd imagine.
-
What -I- would like to see, is more openness regarding what I have to do to earn them. I still have shit idea what I could use a prc for.

If you're not sure, ask a DM or another player to help you.
This thread isn't going to degenerate into a mess about writing applications and the like, and if it does it'll get locked.

What do you mean by this?
