CoA feels empty….
-
I've never felt so lonely in-game before. I very rarely see active people in the streets and very rarely have any response to sendings. Not to mention there are no familiar faces after the last big character purge. Maybe I'm just logging in at weird times. I play in GMT-5 timezone and for 3 days I haven't had more than 1 or 2 quests a day and very skimpy on the quality RP. So when are the hot times to be online when its busy?
-
GMT evenings seem fairly busy.
-
I feel somewhat similar broheme. Have been for a while. However, Savn says its just me so… I imagine there is a golden time zone, where all the shizzle happens.
-
1. Summer slump
2. B-Rock stole the power players/DMs for LoL
3. No new server-wide plots or factions
4. See reason #2
I play GMT evenings, and it I find between 20-25 players typically. A few nights this week had 33 players IG.
Play with my character. I am always up for anything.

In case you ever wondered why deadlock is so win. That's why.

You can tell the difference between now and only a month or two ago just by looking at the forums. I used to leave for work, having already checked all new postings, and come back to like 50 new things to read. Hell I used to be able to check the forums every half hour and find a bunch of new postings. Did all the veteran players quit? I have noticed that both my characters have been subject to suicide by way of working with noobs lately…

A month or so back we were in the middle of the Devil Dragon furore. When the server runs through such a patch you do get intense forum and IG times. I guess most players who were in that are taking a breather or thinking through what concept to no next.

I don't get it.
Anyway, latoskinned, see my post again. I asked the exact. same. thing. And gave you the reasons in a nutshell in case you don't want to read 6 pages of discussion.

summer has always been slow

Well I have decided a good reason why its so dead… was checking out the LoL page to see what all the fuss was about, and noticed that some of the DM's new profile pics are champions from LoL. Maybe I'll try it out when the server is dead because CoA is my game of choice at the moment but its so dull with no one on.
-
Another win for Demacia.
Bitches.
-
Everyone is hiding in the bushes that I implemented
-
Is it normal for there to be lots of L1-3 players mixed with L7-9 players?
I wonder if there is a polarization going on?
Personally, I think the server is healthier if everyone is L1-5 with a few 6s and 7s leading organizations, but that is my 2 cents.
Things too safe?

Still needs more DMs, Abby is running the place by himself at the moment
That will lead to more plots, HOPEFULLY some different factions and more funky fun going on
-
It's a bit of everything everyone has said, not any single cause.
NWN's online community is dying as would be expected of 10 year old game. It didn't just start dying though, it's been going on for a long time and will continue to do so.
Many players are known to take breaks after their main's die, or play less frequently until they find one that they really enjoy; and after the Bloodstone Wars, Slimecult Slaughters, Castle Crag and Greencastle Attacks, there's been a ton of people dying off.
Some people don't play (much) during the summer months.
Plot activity tends to be a direct relation between server population. As most plots were recently resolved, and there's a lack of active DMs and an even bigger lack of both active and proactive Player Characters, there's not so much incentive to play.

DMs have been active. They've been spicing me up all week. At least four of them.

I feel like there is a shortage of players who want to have fun. Everyone seems more interested in getting money and exp and less interested in RP. I have only had 2 characters in-game actively show personality. Its just my opinion but I feel like in a server like CoA, you should feel like your character made an interaction with other characters in the game. Instead of feeling like my character is interacting with others, I feel like I'm playing a game with real people. I'm relatively new to the server, being that I only joined in May, but this is the first time that I have felt so little life in the server, not just with numbers of players but alot of my interactions feel OOC and souless. I almost want to quit my character and create a Villain just to give the city something to talk about…

There is a major plot going on at the moment that I'm trieing to recruite people for. DM's have spiced the shit out of it.

Pro-active good is the minority and the more likely to shake things up. The server is heavily evilly and neutrally influenced now.
