Flamewar begin: How to improve the whole good vs evil thing?

I know this is a bit off topic, but I literally spent hours and hours researching Batmans alignment as refrence for Eagleman, there is hundereds of forums with countless discussion on Batmans alignment and pretty much no one ever totally agrees…
Anyways, I really like black and white, good VS evil type stuff. Its hard for me to keep up with all the plots and whats exactly all going on around the server so sometimes, IC, I am not sure what actions to take against certain groups or people simply because I am to busy with RL to know was going on in game. It sucks for someone like me, playign the type of character I do, to not know those things and be able to make those type of disicions or choices. As long as there is always a group that is clearly "evil" I am happy.

I'm the opposite. I like characters to have a little bit of good and a little bit of evil within them. Makes for fun politics and such.
However, the beauty of CoA is that not all the players have the same taste. So while I get my lovely middle ground, mercurial characters from some of you, others of you make fantastic good archetypes, or vile villains.
It's the melting pot of Arabel.

evil has always been slow because there was a lot of infighting in the past and various factions that hated each other
why they seem to be winning? it may be because there are a lot of cults with strong leadership, also a slightly smaller population base means people have to plan a bit more and coordinate out of game to set up groups, in the past there were a lot more players and hence there would be more competing factions, do that when there is evil and there will be a power struggle that will keep them down
many times in the past some of the evil groups vanished with out much fighting from the good ones, they did not have to, the evil would wipe out the evil and usually it was the more prominent of the groups which already had team good factions already targeting them, after a exhausting power struggle they were easy pickings for other groups
now this did not happen all the time, but it has happened several times in the past, also the houses seemed to attract a lot of people and some of the houses were good, even the evil one would drop everything to fight side by side with these other ones when threats presented themselves to the city
there have been lots of stories in arabel, and most of them come to a end, and lately they have been pretty big and sweeping, these ends mean the end to quite a few characters which will mean each time there is a ending, people will sometimes take a break figuring out what to do next, some jump right back in..and there are rare ones who take a more extended or permanent break for various reasons, not everyone leaves happy when there is a violent ending, it is just the way things are
