Find someone to coach you IG! Make it fun rather than just reasing a forum!
Ditto.
I wish I'd just asked this question four months ago. Actually no I'm not.The learning of new things IG has always kept me interested and my mind active with personal goals to achieve. When someone can do something better than me I set out to find out how or why IG.
EDIT
Incidentally. I don't think there is any problem with the posters topic, just the spoilers/information contained within the thread. -
Unfortunately, these are not exactly things that can really be tested through trial and error with a tremendous deal of effort. Of course learning it all ICly is a lot better, but to teach such things, you need to know the OOC workings of it.
There are people playing Stealthy characters who know many of these OOC things and can teach them IC to you. You would probably need to find two or three mentors to get all of this that now is available for all, but if you wanted to play a character that wanted to become the best of the best in stealth, finding it all out IG would give you and other players significant enjoyment and would establish a clear goal and interest for your character.
- Find someone who is a little more stealthy than you.
- Persuade them to teach you (for some kind of remuneration) - learning some mechanical tricks of the trade in the process.
- Search together for assets to make you more stealthy, and have them introduce you to shady merchants and the like.
- Exhaust first mentor's knowledge, so locate another character who knows some more techniques
- Have them teach you in more complex stealthy techniques (and gain more levels + Hide/MS points as you do this, taking appropriate feats to represent your newly taught skills) Also learning different , more complex mechanical tricks.
- Search together for the fabled Kukri of Fingers Joblin, a Maskaran who use this blade, which incidently was also blessed by Mask to provide him with an hour of silence once per day, to pick complex locks when he ruled the Arabellian Thieves Guild three centuries ago, rumoured to be hidden in a Secret Den in the Ruins of Arabel, for which you must sneek past a gang of rogues who have set up their base of operations nearby, thus demonstrating your worthyness to Mask to enter this hidden den of Joblin. The kukri is protected by a lock most fiendish that any failed attempt to pick it is likely to sever your hand, thus destroying any chance of you ever becoming the Master Thief you wished to be.
- become better than your new master and demonstrated this by hiding from him and stealing his uber stealthy assets, thus ingraciating yourself with Mask and his priest(esses) who honour your superior skill by giving you the fabled cloak of mask that gives you yet another blessing once per day of camoflage.
… - become lord of the universe and incidently, the richest man in Arabel.
Now, is that a far mor fun way of finding out all this OOC information?
