Information Shared: Operation Pitfall
-
Dame Drakesbane and Esteemed Council Members,
I am able to disclose now that we have been working on Operation Pitfall for some time now. Operation Pitfall was a gambit that intended to bring the war directly to Isacsson and the Black Chalice. We avoided disclosing this information to ensure our ruse was able to draw these forces out.
We prepared for such for several weeks and leaked information to Isacsson through various sources about our plan to cut him from his divine source of energy, in order to lure him and his forces out of hiding. We have chosen the far ruins of Hlithal as our staging ground for such.
The Black Chalice threw at us scores of fiends of various sizes and strength to break us but they have failed, and in doing so spent much of their summoning reagents. Reagents that will not so readily be replenished and thus could reduce the threat of these outsiders playing key role in future stages of the war.
During this operation, the Arcane Guild was able to perform the intricate Magical and Divine ritual of Forbiddance that extended throughout the entire Hlithal staging ground and banished any fiend in sight on the field. A true performance of magical prowess and a suitable test that we will hopefully repeat in the future if needed.
Isacsson did not come himself to the field of battle, but spend many resources trying to break us, failing in the process. He remained with his Knights behind the walls of Tilverton surely weakened by the ordeal.
Through our actions on that holy field of battle and the rite of Forbiddance, we were also able to pierce through the veil of silence and receive a sign from the Divine Right that she yet hears us and supports our just cause.

Ser,
I have begun a debate as to the legality of this religion.
I wonder, have your recent experiences coloured your view of the Black Chalice? If they have, perhaps you would feel comfortable being entertained at the Crown by my superiors to discuss your views and knowledge of this Heresy?
@Hangman said in Discussion - religious freedom:
Please present all evidence available of the nature of the Black Chalice faith. We are all aware of the rumours which circulate, however if we're to take any definitive stand it will be founded on robust evidence.
Sir Townsend.
If you are comfortable doing so, please let me know and I will arrange a time suitable to all.
Asher.

Ser, I have been asked to interview you and present the findings.
I would ask you put your thoughts down on paper, with your house seal, so I cannot be accused of acting in poor faith.
We will then find you at a time suitable for you to discuss first hand.
