The Wildwalkers
-
As much as I hate writing this:
- Junnen attempted to force himself into our party.
- When we asked him to leave, he refused, essentially saying 'Make Me.'
- We made him.
The result was a short, decisive battle, and a lot of mess as the devils took advantage of the conflict to strike at us repeatedly. We finally managed to subdue him and convince him to leave of his own accord, neither slaying him nor leaving him tied up anywhere, though Fye offered to guard him and our rear. He says he was there to 'make sure we weren't doing anything suspicious,' which, considering discussions I've had with him recently, alarms me.
Our party was specifically chosen to exclude anyone we suspected to carry the darkness's shame within them because initially, we had only intended to speak to the celestials, and they had already sternly warned that they would not speak with any group that contained an evil individual. I, therefore, did my best to only send letters to the people I was confident of in the hopes that it would make dialogue more likely - and we did have a fine dialogue.
But at this point the Wildwalkers have made it fairly clear that they don't trust us and I've personally lost my trust in them as well. People who believe that celestials are as bad or worse than demons and devils and werewolves do not have the right priorities, and I do not think we should be allowing these specific druids access to our lands anymore. I am not sure they were ever actually our friends to begin with.
I'm recalling Ursula's forceful demand that we hand over the information on the Celestial of Eveningstar, their retention of giants and lycanthropes when offered better alternatives, their public and constant declarations that celestials are 'as bad as devils and demons', and now this attempt to follow our party without our permission which had to be stopped by force?
I'm worried they might strike at the ward or the Ward Guardian while these things are weakened without realizing the harm they would be doing.
I also think we take a second look at what happened in the caverns during the ritual. I did see Lathander's holy light destroying the shadows, but I now worry what harm the druids might have committed in their language down there with the sacrifice of the stag. Could they have added some secret addition to the ritual that detrimentally affected our town without our knowledge?
What should we do about all of this?

I would like to take Fye and go into the caverns below Eveningstar to check.

(optional) The druids can be given a stern warning to not interfere again.
