the Child of Maluradek
-
Children of Lathander,
I come to you with tidings. A creature of pure darkness exposed itself to myself and Dawnsquire Tiatus today. It spoke strange words. It said we were not following the True Way, and that a child of Maluradek, whose "bones are dust, who was taken by the Old Night and sups on the blood of the living" must be found. I believe this vampire it speaks of is the same one that Nanthleenee the Great Druid warned me about in Deadwell. We will proceed with caution, and endeavor to illuminate the riddle further.
It claimed to be a child of Anauria, Asbaron Emderald Eyes of Nemirn, Last Keeper of the Caul.
Do we have any information on this "Thing" which always supersedes a horde of strange and powerful undead?

I have met Asbaron twice. He usually sends dead things with emerald eyes after us. The other evening, he sent a man into Eveningstar to kill me. Tiatus and I killed him quickly. I was too slow to act to stop him from dying and get more information out of him. We buried him away from town. Then journeyed to Asbaron's home. He confirmed he sent the man, but not why. He still wants us to kill the vampire woman. Sir Nicholas had said that Nan knew about her. With Nan gone, I will do some research to see what I can come up with.

I was traveling to Arabel from Eveningstar where I crossed paths with Dextar and Faryn. They sought the lady of crimson and coal to find answers. Their sending to that point was responded by this creature to meet in a cellar. Unknowing what she spoke of, I recalled Sir Nicholas being suspicious that the smuggling tunnels were a coven for vampires. As we explored it's dark depths we came across a figure of pale skin. Clumsy yet graceful he thirsted for blood. Unwavering in it's effort to get a taste of thy blood we fought it and defeated it twice. We then found where it slept but at the point of a third attempt I was far too expended and fended it off until Dextar and Faryn made a safe retreat where I then followed. It is evident this is a serious concern and these creatures must be brought to face the Light. I believe this foul creature to be a weaker kin to what is ahead of us. Be wary and true.

While on the way back from spotting the Abyssal Spider, we ran into a great number of undeath whilst we argued. Many fell though I remained. I fought on and as I did, Asbaron appeared. Commending me for my strength and fortitude. I know not for what reason he shown face. Afterwards he spoke of what he desired before fading away, that which we spoke was nothing new. As we made way back from the sewers we ran into another. She spoke ill of Asbaron as every other creature has done for the other. She sought Dextar the "Sunbearer". Given this name for he carries an amulet of a false sun god gifted to him by another vampire. I know not why she sought him out but we must consider finding what they seek. This may be the key to seeing their time come to an end.
Notes
-
We need more garlic.
-
Many of these creatures take interest in Dextar.
-
Dextar was given vials of blood as a gift not long ago. I am suspicious it is so he will get used to the taste of blood for later evil acts.
-
Some of these vampires take interest in this blood yet do not ask for it. Could make for worthy bait.
