Q/COA Compatable Overide
-
Hey. Just thought I would show this off as I am working on making a COA friendly Q Override (Also other things of my own making and from the vault). I made sure the the apperance.2da has all the auras removed from re-sized creatures too.
It will probably take a long long time, but here is a little look at some of the creature overrides I have got working so far.
First, the Orcs. I love these orcs. What you cant see here is their new combat animation which simply rock socks!
Here they are in the toolset:
This was them in game:
Goblins now. These goblins are by far the best goblin models made for NWN. I have not seen them in game yet, but they all work fine on my local machine so far:
Lizard men look great. I saw them in Fangvale and they look great. Just could not get a good SS in game of them yet. The drummers look so cool:
The new undead. I have not gotten the new zombies yet, but they will come:
There are many many many more redone creatures to go in as well as redone texture on placables. I'm planing to retexture some of the tilesets too to make them more universal in appearance between 1.69 TNO tiles and the original tiles.
As I said, it's going to be a big job.. but I hope to get in done soon. If any one has some overides they like, let me know here and I'll have a look at them and see if I can add them too :)

The Goblins and Orcs looks really great, particularly the latter. Now I just wonder where it comes from, I can see the white hand of Saruman on their face.
-
They are DnD inspired orcs and I belie that the hand print is supposed to be the mark of Yutrius. :)
-
Done some more today. Creatures only. They will be the easy ones really. What will take time is the placables and weapons. The tile sets will take the most time of all though.
Ok, so I got the rotting Zombies for the vault. I like these ones even if their polly count is higher then it should be for a medium creature.. also they don't like working with .DSS so I had to keep the .TGA textures which I was not happy about. I could spend time and fix that, but the difference in image size and quality is only a little compared to the time it would take to fix:
These are the new Q Trolls, similar to the ones on the vault but I like them better. Texture and animation quality as well as the dangle mesh make them so:
Ooow.. Spiders that look like real spider..:
Dier Wolfs and Words with teeth and clws and smooth bodies.. Dogs and Wolfs with mouths that open and round non blocky bodies! Niiice:
Not that you see many Balors in game… but when you dooo :
That's most of the redone creatures so far. It's such a pitty there is not way way to add the new creatures in, but oh well. I am thinking about adding the re-done body parts too thought I'm not sure. But having fingers would be cool on PC's :D
-
Those trolls and spiders look incredible.
-
Wow, these all look really cool; now I can see why you seemed so excited when you were testing them out. I've long hated the standard NWN troll look, those ones are much better.
-
Those spiders are effing scary as hell!!!
-
Just a quick reskinning of the of the floor and roads of the forest tileset to make it look lush and inviting. I have always hated the brown floors. The rest of the textures are fine I think and really don't need to be touched.
-
Is that a kobold? If it is that looks brilliant! I always pictured them as rather dog like, but I blame Baldur's Gate for that.

I already have an override that adds fingers, I think it's in the nwn vault somewhere.

This topic has links to that hands override, and some others people tend to use.

Beautiful.
Post it up when it's done.luteijn, that thread is ancient.
The newer links are here. -
Thanks for the advice, I'll defiantly look at those parts. Any one know of a good city redux? I was contemplating doing one myself, but that might take longer then I want to spend on it. Creating new textures from scratch is a pain in the arse :D

They remind me a lot of 2E trolls, which were better looking than the NWN ones.

Some of those (well, all of those) are simply amazing. Look forward to when you have the collection finished :)

I have spent the last day and a half retexturing the Rural Tileset (ttr tiles) and making them match the new Castle Exterior, Rural Tielset (tno). The bulk of it is done for now, though there are bound to be bits that I missed or bits that don't quite fit right (those can be fixed in 3ds Max) but as far as I can see it's gone fairly well so far. The screen shots here are in game. I's hard to get a really good idea of how nice it looks from it though. But the work was worth it.
Now I'm going to do some more easy stuff and add the DLA/Q ogres and the new Werewolf with the sweet new running animation :) I might do the wererat too and the wearcat.

Looks nice, where do I download it from? assuming your releasing them.
-
I'll put it on the NWN vault when I am finished. :)

Unfortunately it looks like the new were creatures are not able to be made into an over ride. Spent most of the day trying and while I did get them to work, their tails were missing. Not good enough.
Also fixed a few problems in the redux textures on the rural tile set. I have to change the nice cobble paved bridges back to plank bases because the texture was use in other models, not just bridges.
Disappointing, but the texture I replaced it with is nice as well. Also I have added a few more new textures in so the about 50% of them have been replaced with altered TNO textures now.
As soon as that is done I'll do the same to Rural Winter and then the re work of the city tiles. I'm actually looking forward to that one. -
I finished with the Rural for now. It looks like everything meshed alright so far, only testing it will show any bugs in it I suppose.
Now I will move on to the Winter set. It should not be dificult since alot of it can come straight from ttr tiles.
