Walking the elf
-
So I'm playing my first elf. I've noticed the only way that I can walk without being stealth mode is to hold the shift key down while mouse clicking my way around. This cumbersome process is peeving me a bit, so I was wondering if anyone here has found a way to toggle walking mode so that the (W) key can be used for getting around while walking?

There's that.
But I have to say, after awhile you get used to it. Really.
In fact, the last time I rolled up a non-elf rogue, it felt cumbersome to not be able to stealth and look for traps and walk at normal speed. I found myself wanting to be an elf again.

I bind spacebar to walk. And hold down shift when i need to click.

First world problems: "I run too fast."

Thanks guys. I'm all sorted out now.

you can change your run key to w, and your walk key to something else so that you can walk easily <.< ( has always done that regardless of race)

I changed X to my walk key, works fine.

I use the arrow keys for walking and the WASD keys for rotating the camera. When I need to run, I left-click like a madman. I've always found detect mode walking to be cumbersome, as it tends to lag up when I really need to run. Not to mention when you accidentally double-click the hotkey. :)

Bind walk to w and f for run

or do the other way around, if you like running <.<

I could not imagine a worse solution :P plus detect mode does not work for elves. I bind space key to walk, other bind another key, by far the easiest solution.
