Rough Draft: CoA Advertisement Flyer
-
Ok guys, like I promised I took a shot at putting together an advertisement flyer for CoA. The idea was to keep this one piece of paper in length; and something that could be put up in forums or printed off and hung up in gaming shops. Goal is to allow us to advertise the server to other role-players or newbies who want to come join the awesome that is CoA. Could Players / DMs take a look at the flyer and provide feedback / edits / great ideas I have not thought of. Once we have a flyer we all agree on (and DM approved), we can start advertising the server. At the bottom are ideas (my own and the ones already suggested by others) for places to put these flyers, if other people have ideas for places to advertise please speak up! Lets keep this awesome player base and server going for another 10 years!

spelling check. check again.
-
Give a short history of recent occurrences to show how dynamic and awesome things are.
-
I be tempted to make a bigger deal of the metastorys and how other groups interacting can push plots in interesting ways.
-
Might also be good to somehow add in that characters of the past have risen to command entire armies, or rule the city, etc.
-
On the other hand, we need much shorter text.
-
You could cut the "Get Start" down to about three lines, that basically say - "See the Forums"
-
I am going to take a cut at version two with these ideas in them. Keep em coming!
-
I'd also include a link to the bioware social network forums and the vault. For tech support and custom content reasons.
New blood is a win for the whole NWN community, IMO -
Never use coa.ender.com.
Link to the downloader is this:```
/forum/viewtopic.php?t=148664Perhaps best to just give the forum link and say where to go, its rather easy. forum.cityofarabel.com wiki link? coa.wikia.com Neverwinter in one word.

Needs a sexy picture.
-
There are actually quite a few spelling mistakes and otherwise in that poster
-
Yep! It was a rough draft, and by rough I mean I slapped it together in like ten minutes just to give us something work off of. I am taking my time with version two and trying to incorporate all the good points you guys brought up. I really like the picture idea, either as a background or as a header. Does anyone have any specific ideas in regards to that? If not I will come up with something for version two and see how people feel. Time wise, my intent is to have a final product by the end of this weekend.
-
I think there is a good selection of images in the timeline thread. This thread might also be something to point at perhaps? Even if it is way too much for an ad, it will show that the story is evolving and it will give some understanding of the server. Just another suggestion :P
-
I say cut out step one completely. It's obvious anyone who wants to play an NWN server will need NWN. Cut that whole section down to something like, "Visit the City of Arabel Getting Started Page and be ready to go in about ten to fifteen minutes!"
And roll a link to the starter page into that sentence.
DM's - please include (if it isn't already) how to go about purchasing and getting a multiplayer CD key from GOG
-
I'm on the opinion that we need something like start.cityofarabel.com with all the relevant info and links. (server adress, disclaimer about the GOG key issue, link to the new player section on forums, and a very brief one paragraph text about the server. Custom setting but close to canon Cormyr, RP requirements, that sort of thing.)

Great stuff Axiom. Fantastic to see the enthusiasm and love for CoA. Things like this will and are, bringing new players to our server. Keep up the good work.
