Unexpected Reboot

I'm making a note here: huge success
Server has been migrated to new server that does not have a failing drive. Onward!

Outage
Our provider did some maintenance tonight, which I didn't think would cause an outage, but did. I heroically paid $7 to get on wifi so I could restore things from the maui airport before boarding a flight. Hopefully everything is kosher. :)

RE: Planned Forum Downtime
Forums migrated!
People should show up here as DNS updates.

Planned Forum Downtime
I should perhaps say "semi-planned". At some point during the next 3-4 days I intend to migrate the virtual machine that runs these forums to another server. It requires a longer downtime because I have to convert one virtual disk type to another. When it comes back up, it will still be at coa.ender.com, but that will be a different IP address.
(If anything goes wrong, it will come back up where it is.)
In short, the forums may go down. Don't panic.

RE: Soooo… Neverwinter MMO?
This started off as a non-MMO, fyi. After Cryptic was bought by Perfect World, PW wanted to redo it as an MMO. However, keep in mind that it's designed as pure F2P.
My thought is that a F2P model might actually be really nice for a game like this. People pay for things they love. (To wit, people have spent $10,000 keeping Arabel running over the years, just in various hosting costs/etc, not counting the time/effort/etc.)

RE: Can't Find the Server?
This is probably fixed for anyone having problems. If you're still having issues connecting, please post.

RE: Cryptic's Neverwinter
@Vladimir:
I don't really agree there, Mith. They did alright with Champions Online. I'm not saying it doesn't have problems, cause it does, but it's getting better and is a pretty fun game.
I have a lifetime sub, so I'm rooting for it. I like the cell shading and I love the way they did power acquisition.
Their micropayment Cryptic Points system is, frankly, tawdry. The way they were going to originally release content updates w/ point costs was super ridiculous.
The game has been super buggy - it did a ridiculous amount of rendering in CPU rather than GPU, which meant a lot of people needing to upgrade to get the performance they wanted, even though it does not have great graphics.
The city is big, but it doesn't feel alive at all - just enemies all over the place. It's like - where the hell are all the police? Heroes aside, if there were super powered villains in groups on EVERY STREET CORNER…
Voice acting is possibly the worst since the Lord British voice in Ultima VII. ("Though it painsssh me, Avatar, I musht shend theeeeee to the Serpent Isle...")
The crafting system is pretty damn bad. (The buff you get from actually gathering from a node though is amazing... not sure if that's good though.)
Lots of very glitchy missions. Especially anything and everything related to Nemesis, when I tried that. The "Where do I get a mission now?" crime computer thing was a nice idea, but honestly, it's pretty bad at finding you a "good" person. And for the love of God, I want a "call" button.
Team finding was absolutely horrible. The auction house interface was beyond horrible.
I like the block mechanic, but I don't like energy builders. The power color customization is horrible. (Try to make something red, end up with hot pink. City of Heroes did this in a MUCH better way.)
OTOH, I don't think I've played more than once in 6 months, so maybe it has improved on some of these scores.

RE: Cryptic's Neverwinter
And given the fact Cryptic totally messed up every game they ever made I don't have my hopes up for this title. However, we shall see as time goes on
FYP.
