RE: New Shop Ideas
A Curio Shop. The idea would be some (ideally somewhat shady) shop that sells a collection of oddities with one or two powerful / very expensive items thrown in. The owner of the shop would be fairly mysterious and ideally linked to one or more shady power groups. The shop would sell three different types of items, listed below.
1. Oddities Linked to Server History: Random items that are linked to the servers history. For instance, Purple Dragon helm from the days before the Rebellion. The chest plate (armor) of a Merciful Sword Knight and so on. These items would ideally have some fairly minor enchantments that make them slightly better than un-enchanted armor but a large step below true faction gear (representing the items are old / scavenged remains of history).
2. False / Cursed Items: Very expensive items that are false or cursed but sold as "useful". Maybe items that have a nice bonus but alos a very severe detractor attached to them. Their description would read something along the lines of "the shop owner refuses to talk about where he got this or what it does, but he seems to be eager to be ride of it". These items would ideally be fairly expensive. You buy them and equip them at your own risk (maybe an OOC warning to this effect), then the items bonus and detractor are revealed.
3. Legends: One or two VERY expensive items that are either legendary or can lead to legendary items. Maybe something along the lines of a very expensive "old sword, -1 AB & -1 Physical Damage". However if purchased by a fighter / weapon master / etc who takes the time to really role play it, it can turn into a very powerful weapon suited to that character. Again description is something similar to the cursed items "shop owner wont speak of these items and wants to get ride of them".

RE: RE: High Level PCs Announcement
I admit I am of two minds on the level subject. I have played on a server that caped out at 10 and have to admit, I -really- like the idea of the quests going up to 12. It may not seem like much, but some classes really start to shine at 11 and 12. In particular, classes that are much weaker at lower levels. Still, I can certainly see the DMs point in regards to power versus input to the server. I actually think the compromise proposed is the healthiest for the server.
1. You get to keep playing your character regardless, the DMs may just ask you to bow out on certain things.
2. It greatly encourages you to start trying to get into the plots of the server. This is a great thing both from a server perspective and a personal perspective. On the server side everyone is working to make the plots that much more awesome (either as a driver or as a support). On the personal side, take it from me. Playing non-plot oriented characters is much less fun that plot characters. I was very guilty of playing a quest spamming non plot oriented character, and frankly when I gave plots a try I was blown away by how much fun they were.
My two cents.

RE: From Us, to The DM Team
In all seriousness, the work that has gone into this server is simple astounding from my perspective. The item creation, the custom classes, the awesome area creations, the intriguing plot lines. A huge round of applause to the entire DM team!

RE: No other class but a fighter!
Err, PCs do it all the time. Kill the mage NPC, charge. Frankly I have played both ends of the new AI. I played a heavily armored character and I am now playing as a somewhat squishy character. The AI seems fine to myself. It is providing a challenge true and I realize some people might not like it. If I could make a recommendation. Carry invisibility potions and use them in those situations. They arent that horrible expensive and are a real life saviors.

CoA Advertisement Flyer: Final Version [DMs, Players]
Everyone,
Below is my final cut at a CoA Advertisement Flyer. Can the DMs take a look at the below and let me know if there are any issues with it? Also, if any players have great ideas please post away. Once we get a DM approved flyer, I intend to create an advertisement thread. The idea is to post places we can advertise CoA and to keep ideas coming for how to get the word out. People can then grab the flyer from the Advertisement thread and put it up with a simple copy & paste or download and print. I honestly believe there is a massive pool of hard-core DnD players out there that would love to jump in if they knew about the server. Our job is just to give them the chance.- Axiom
