Dwarves vs. dwarves
-
I realize in FR there is the RACE of Dwarves. But since I'm currently reading GoT, I began to wonder: are there dwarved humans in FR, meaning the genetic condition rather than the race?
-
To my knowledge, there have been no examples in Forgotten Realms rule books or in Forgotten Realms novels. There is at least one example in other campaign settings, though. One Dragonlance novel, Tales of Uncle Trapspringer, had a human dwarf in it.

We have both halflings/kenders and dwarves/dwarves. Do we need dwarfed humans on top of that for little people?
-
you forgot gnomes!!!
-
There's one short novella of a midget magehound and a seer…

I wasnt suggesting that we NEED them. I was asking if they EXIST in FR lore. It seems the answer is yes.

In a fantasy/medieval world, If "midgets' do exist, they will likely be explained as being cursed or magically deformed as opposed to the contemporary explanation of genetic disorder.
-
actually the answer was no in FR lore as uncle trapspringer was from dragonlance and krynn
-
We don't have midgets. No.

Thanks for the clarification.
I wasnt looking to play one. Merely curiosity as to whether or not they existed.
