A few days ago I took Mordecai of House Cormaeril and one of his retainers out to the Eastern Marches to study the ward.
It appears it is divine in nature and blinds and harms those who get too close to it, from rumours last year it seems it is connected to the Queen as when it got damaged it harmed her.
Ways to strengthen the ward should be looked into, though creating divine energy is something more suited to priests than mages, Perhaps certain reagents could allow positive energy to be created

After some thought perhaps a diamond could be used as a reagent to create positive or divine energy.
However a priest of the Divine Right, Retainer Withermoor could use his blessings to strengthen the ward potentially.
This would no doubt get some favour and weaken the heretical cults of the Crimson and Black Chalice

Myself, Amakiir, Tristan and Elsa went to study the ward.
Attempts were made to strengthen it first by Tristain casting a searing light spell at it to try and empower it with the divine rights power.
Elsa then used a symbol of Lathander to cast spells to try and empower it.
Further study will need to be made to see if this has any effect
