File: The Smuggling tunnels.
What adventurers commonly refer to as the smuggling tunnels appear to be a mix of an ancient estate and a tomb complex.
In a lower section accessable through a hidden grate what appears to be the tomb of members of a family called the Nemrins is visible.Mentions of the god Amaunator are frequent such as a statue of a bard in a chamber called the hall of hymns and a statue of someone grieving in a tomb called the hall of broken cradles.
Further study will be made and efforts made to translate texts within

There is a small cavern under the section of the smuggling tunnels holding the Nemrin Graves.
The cavern holds a collapsed estate with 2 statues in front of it, a warrior woman with a crown of golden feathers fighting a large purple drake.
Perhaps this was a gold feather estate and the statue shows their conflict with the purple dragons or a claim the Goldfeathers defeated the Purple Dragon and not the Obaskyrs.

A tomb in the smuggling tunnels is inscribed with the name of Lord Marath Goldfeather the son of Lady Adeina Goldfeather
This tomb is behind a stuck door that took Borag to push open
Behind another locked door are tiles reminiscent of murals in the Stonelands and a winged skeleton trapped in a binding circle.
Further research will need to be made in the Stonelands and efforts made to learn the ancient language so translations can be made

A few days back I was able to conduct a small investigation of Nemser, upon entering there are 3 statues the most prominent in marble.
Deeper in is a fountain with ancient inscriptions on it, I believe another visit will allow me to translate these and undoubtedly there is more I didnt see before investigating the fire elementals
Translations have been made of much of the inscriptions with the smuggling tunnels,
Frequent mentions of Amaunator are made and there is a reference to the kingdom of Anauria which is what the stonelands were once known as.
The tomb of the Nemrins states they were given space in Goldfeathers halls for great service and they rest amongst Goldfeathers beloved dead
An inscription near the statue of the Bard mentions a song of fire and glass.
Further research is needed and more study in the Stonelands

With Thurdins assistance I was able to study the bound winged skeleton, Inscriptions indicate it was a Celestial in service a diety of the sun, Likely Amaunator and it has been given eternal rest, it is odd it has left remains though as when a planar being is slain here it usually returns to its own plane. Perhaps ancient magics bound it here after death

Whilst further exploring the smuggling tunnels with Amakiir I came upon a statue down some climbs
It seems to indicate more graves in the area as it mentions the Lady forgiving those fell from the skies, Perhaps the fall of the Netherse flying cities.
I also went to Nemser with her yesterday and began translating inscriptions.
The marble statue at the entrance would appear to be of a Lord of House Nemrin, Lord Ashkellor and the inscription asks Amaunator to let him reign everlasting, wether this means he sought undeath or not is unknown.
The fountain mentions a Peyana, saying it is her final garden and asking for mercy for the condemed.
There is also a bedroom in Nemser that seems to have been recently used even if the bookcase in it seems dilapidated, Tapestries of dragons hang in the room

Through the smuggling tunnels a possibly older ruin is accessable. Statues of Snakes and other reptiles are prominent, A now dead Sussur tree is present, how it survived for a time is a mystery as the trees are usually native only to the underdark .
Strange scrawlings are also present, though not in Netherese.
Further study will be needed
-
In the deeper ruins is a pit of bones known as the Midden, Perhaps sacrifices to the snakes depicited in statues
One of the scrawlings is in the undertounge and mentions dead priests and serpent lords, Perhaps Yaun Ti or other reptilians
-
The two names mentioned by the Nemrin Grave are Otyleon and Thiwenia perhaps more can be uncovered on what service they rendered to the Goldfeathers as the main Nemrin household appears to have been within Nemser.
Within the Deeper Ruins a massive golden statue of a snake was located. It is clear there was reverence towards serpents by whichever civilization inhabited the area although I do not believe they were of Netheril.
An inactive portal was also discovered with no hint as to where it may have led.
Research will continue

More study has been conducted in Nemser
Near to a torture chamber statues have been found with the inscription Auppenser the Serene, May his eye unveil the way
The fact there is a torture chamber and garden for the condemened as well as what appears to be cells indicate it may have been a prison facility as well as House Nemrins stronghold.
Another ruin has been located acessable from Hilthal, a Anaurian gemstone is needed to pass the portal,
In the first chamber a recording can be heard in Netherese, a proclomation from a Queen Alysha Thardesk the ninth lifting the outlawing of those of Karsite descent.
To proceed deeper into the ruins spells need to be cast on several statues
Further research will be conducted

Further research has been conducted in Nemser and the deeper ruins.
The frame of the mirror in the bedroom in Nemser has draconic text around it, I should be able to translate this on the next visit.
Draconic writings have been uncovered in the deeper ruins. One by a massive binding stone of onyx and marble appear to be a plea to a Lord Merrshaluk to unwind the roots of a Great World Tree.
Another by the Sussur Tree appears to be thanks for the Sussur tree, calling it a gift of the unremembered deepwood.
A shattered crytstaline arch has also been discovered in the deeper ruins, I believe it may have once been a giant divination apperatus as there are steps close to it with a small viewing like platform. Although the colours within are most odd and it refracts darkness and a buzzing energy can be felt nearby, Likely a magical remnant of the energy that damaged it.

Research on ruins of Tethgard:
At the entrance to the Hullack are two statues, one Netherese and one Elven, I believe this signify the nature of Tethgard
In the entrance of Tethgard markings can be seen showing elven warriors trapped on another plane doing battle with chaos creatures, a few make thier way out due to their leaders but found the elven kingdoms fallen and others elves turn their back on them due to changes. Their descendants manage to intergrate into society however.
A warded door has a picture of a woman deflecting blows with their armour and leads deeper in, where a ruin that sings can be found
It sings a song of a lover of Karsus and a man of gold and Xanthous and a man of a thousand faces
Another mural depicts a line of matriarchs holding up a bridge of stars upon which their subjects dance, perhaps signifying planar travel
Another warded door depcits a woman using a falchion to cut a bridge of stars
Yet another depicts the fall of the Netherese cities after Karsus Folly with survivors being led towards Tethgard by a Mithril Stag
A final door shows a princess weighted by a cloak of chains with each chain linking to a statue weeping tears to a mysterious well.
In the chamber nearest the seal are 2 statues of an empress and heir with their wrists slit and blue liquid flowing to druidic runes surrounding them
Near the seal are two murals, One shows a forest empire with floating cities with the Blacksand family crest prominent.
The other appears to be conjuration runes for a portal network but a spell has been cast on them to make them blurry and impossible to copy
Finally by the statue of the Lady herself is a rune that appears to be bleeding and murmurs in drudic can be heard from it
The chains on the statue appear to be conjuration and it appears though the lady struggles against them.
The Lady tries to get people to offer blood to her and find a way to fully seal the damage so she can be freed, It seems she isnt willingly there

Further study has been conducted in Nemser and Amazandar with Amakiir
The inscription on the mirror reads, May your reign suffer no mortality and it is signed by a Yusepsis'Ashiin. Perhaps this is the same Ashiin mentioned by the statue of the Bard in the smuggling tunnels.
Along with the inscription on the statue by the entrance to Nemser asking that the Lords regin be everlasting perhaps some of the Nemrins sought undeath.
The ruin in Hlithal that requires an Anurian gemstone to get in is known as Amazandar and would appear to be the royal seat of House Thardresk and a throne is located within the ruins along with hanging skeletons in the throne room
The houses of Nemrin and Maluradek are also mentioned, with House Maluradek having an estate within although it is ruined and inacessable currently, The marker in front of it mentions that they were arcanists and scientists.
The Nemrins had a lord called Assie Nemrin, It is written they killed what is likely to be a blue dragon and protected a Princess Shaddra the fair
Deeper within is a placard with a prayer to Mystra upon it, Asking for forgiveness for Karsus folly and promising to teach the next generation
A now discarded placard hidden down a ravine contains a proclomation by Yaldah Thardresk the 2nd outlawing Karsites punishing them on pain of death.
The ruins also contain a large temple of Amanator that has been corrupted by a massive spill of shadow at the center dias, I believe this is created by a necromantic ritual as a portal close by that has an impaled orcan corpse trapped between life and death and red mist.
A memorial in the temple celebrates the coronation of a King Thauismbel the wise, Calling Anuria the jewel of Netheril
A placard by the prayer to Mystra also commerates a wedding between the Houses of Nyntynel and Olrynn, A group called the Brothers and Sisters of the Wood
-
A crystal memorial has been located in Tilverton, It contains a message saying Step forth thy blessed of Amaunator by the steps of Hlithal, The earth stars shall show you the way home.
There are some Hovering Gemstones in Hlithal that appear to be whispering, Perhaps it refers to this
More study will be conducted
-
A gravestone has been located in the oasis of the Stonelands,
It says it holds the remains of the last queen of Anuria and she brought misfortune and death to her people, She was killed by her own flesh and blood, Assirah of House Blacksand and the Thardresk line was ended.
Within the snaking tunnels a chamber has been found, Stautes of Minotaurs by a Netherese Mage with the inscription Maluradek and a a strange device of crystals
-
Alysia believes the identity of the spirit known as the Lady to be Lady Duskreene, She killed her brother to become soverign of Tethgard.
Supposedly her brother is also sealed away on another plane.
I believe the Lady is not sealed willingly due to the statue of her, chains of blood and mist go towards a conjuration rune that flickers angrily for release and she charges those who bargain with her to find a permanent way to seal the tear so she can go free from what I can gather from Archer
-
What appears to be a sacrifical altar is located in the Smuggling Tunnels, Whilst old I believe it was moved there.
It bears an inscription to Bhaal of the Ragged blade and mentions a chain of blood to pluck something from Jergals embrace
It is known cults of Bhaal sometimes operate in Deadwell

Murals have been found in the Hillmarch Mines
The first depicts a woman chained down by thousand of hands with misty tears in her eyes, reaching for a light she is denied.
This could represent someone making a pact and later regretting it.Further in is a mural of a woman being seduced by a dragon, This could represent the seductive nature of power or perhaps more literally the Purple Dragons claiming other kingdoms and lands.
Through a crevice are a few murals
The first depicts a King with hair as red as blood
The second a celestial embracing a bird with golden feathers, Possibly indicating pacts between celestials and the Goldfeathers or perhaps interbreeding as the Queen is said to be unnaturally beautiful.
Another Mural depicts a Tymoran falling from the sky but being saved by a cloud of golden feathers, perhaps signifying the King controlling the Tymoran church by selecting the High Priestess
Also in the Hullack through a portal in the webbed maze a grove has been found, inside is a fallen pillar with a Netherese Inscription praising Mystral as the Godess and Guardian of Tethgard indicating it was founded before the fall of Netheril
-
Along with Mordecai and one of his retainers I went to study the Ward in the Marches.
It would appear it gives off a strong aura of divine energy and blinds those who get too close to it due to the brightness.
Rumour also indicates that damage to the ward harms the queen, perhaps due to a celestial heritage the Goldfeathers may have
-
More translations have been made in the Stonelands
The whispering stones in Hlithal are a memorial to the fallen Kingdom of Anuria mourning its fall.
The Amber marker welcomes people to Tower Hlithal and mentions it protected the southern trade routes
