An Infestation of Rats- Murder in the Streets
-
Rumors spread that the elf bard known as Imyra was murdered in the streets by a pair of wererats. Despite many of the city defenders coming to her aid, and even a Ghost making an appearance- they were unable to recover the elf's corpse.

As the city continues to struggle with filthy rats and outbreaks of disease, word of a few notable efforts begins to spread
The shrine of Talona sees an increase in visitors and tithes as people pray to the Mother of All Plagues to be spared or for a cure. Pilgrims make the long journey to TIlverton, most unable to afford a caravan or to find space, on foot. Reports of bandits along the Moonsea ride are on the rise. Rumors that healing kits are being distributed from the shrine and by other faithful are met with tearful hope.....
Efforts to rally a group of brave adventurers, long the hallmark of Arabel, seem to have been a failure. Where are the heroes? Who will save a city teetering on disaster?
The Wildwalkers, usually misunderstood, have thus far been quiet. Some scorn these nature lovers others hold out that they will save the city.
Cats of all variety are being scooped up off the street and young kittens are commanding extravagant coin in sale to those who can afford them. Wizards with rat familiars are scorned while those with cats are looked to in awe.
Tinkerers find their skill with traps and mechanisms in high demand.
All the while, there have been no recent sightings of the rat duo, worrying many about what this means.......

Rumors spread that far below the streets, a plague of lycanthropy has gripped the smuggling tunnels where a Bubonic Court has risen in defiance of the Surface Lands, a rebellion against all that is clean and virtuous in favor of the scabrous squeaks and plague of the RAT.
A hero is needed in these dire times, a hero to fight the Vermin Tide...

With the call of 1000 coin for service, House Axehand sent a brave party of adventurers into the sewers. Some time later squeaks could be heard echoing. Shortly before a few adventurers, led by Malagent de Verthan were seen scrambling from the underground, rats of many descriptions briefly poured onto the streets.
Some in the historic district claim to have seen the feared were-rats first hand, fighting the militia and other before retreating back to the sewers.
A lone chicken was sent with a trembling militiaman and soon after more of the adventures, this time led by Officer yr Mirai of the Crown Guard we seen in Historic.
Rumors of a green toxic mist in the sewers linger as does the claim from the were-rats announcing the annexing of the sewers. Rat-law has been declared. Treason charges to be levelled against any who aid the were-rats.
An uneasy time as both rat-land and city consider their next action. Both bloodied. Both willing to fight.
