A fellow calling himself Nathaniel Florent made a sending wanting to know why his family had been outlawed. I went to investigate his claim and bring him down as per the Kings orders.
Using underhand methods he overpowered me and demanded to know why his family had been slaughtered. I told him his sister had turned 700 people into salt, and I was doing my duty by my King's order, he refused to accept that it was possible. He then asked who killed his father. At this point, rather than give him the name of Fye, I told him that I had delivered the mans head to the King himself, as there was no need to endanger citizens. I told him that if he did not believe my words to seek out the blood and bone tribe who fought the thing.
Two half orcs appeared and his attention shifted to them and I took the opportunity to retreat, as there were no other adventurers to aid in apprehending them.

I don’t think you should have pursued him. Next time, you should leave criminals like that, and maybe the Murdered Manticore altogether, to me. I am something of a hero in the community.
Personally, I think the Wardens need to focus on the important desk-based initiatives. There was no warden to process the angry bishops that set fire to people in your district, and they rightly complained about efficiency. It would have been very embarrassing for the Crown Guard if you had been killed as we would have needed to have appointed a new Historic District warden while processing the criminals. And the bishops would likely have been even more angry at the inconvenience.
