A proposal -
With there being no Council and threats rising all around us I propose we trial a District Warden movement.
Houses Blackstone and Sallvara shall take one each (the Plaza and Historic) and leave Clover Market to Mossmere, get them onboard and give them a little more clout to swing them into our corner.
Clamp down harder or dissidents, an iron fist against uprisings and a public face for the people to deal with

I propose we go further than this.
What if the retainers of the major noble houses were given the legal authority to enforce the Kings Law? issue fines in the name of their house, and settle disputes between the common herd? They would not be investigating crimes, or addressing any not committed directly in front of them, however it would mean they would not be charged with assaulting some peasant adventurer who was making a nuisance of themselves.
Investigations and crimes would obviously still fall under the purview of the Crown Guard, and they would need to report to the warden of that district, however in cases where we are simply not present, this could prove to be an invaluable force. And who could we trust, if not the men employed directly by the nobility?
I believe this would have the effect of garnering support among the major noble houses.

Yes, agreed.
This will lessen the influence of the Precept as they will be left by the wayside.
We can act as arbiters to settle any disputes that arise.

Greetings,
As something of a hero on the streets of Arabel, and someone investigating crimes. I don't see the point. Crown Guards can already issue fines, and it is a criminal offence to disregard their orders. I don't see the point to referring crimes to a Blackstone, Mossmere or Sallvara first.
For a start, you guys are investigating the Precept, which would fall under the jurisdiction of Mossmere.

Why should we be the ones issuing fines and checking paperwork?
We put it in place and get other people to do it for us, then we step in when it all goes south at the 11th hour and look like the heroes of the piece.
Specific case files that are a threat to the city as a whole we will still manage - such as restricted races, the Precept and anything to do with Tilverton.
