Honored servants of the Mighty Morninglord,
I pen this missive, hoping to unite the forces of good within our fair, but struggling kingdom.
It is no secret that the Crown wishes to strengthen its existing ties with the other cities within the land. While you service the lands of Eveningstar well, the faith of Lathander and its authority within the lands outside the village are minimal at best.
I had hoped that through dedicated service in the Crownguard, I could see the influence of the light inspire my fellow countrymen, by that action alone. And while that was a lofty ambition, it had failed to consider the long, corruptive influence these past twelve years has had on the moral fiber of our nation. Such sadly extends into the ranks of those I share a uniform with, at least to an extent.I grew up with tales of past glory as my main inheritance. Stories of valiant knights in shiny armors, roaming the roads in pursuit of foul monsters and wicked bandits. In these stories, local villages saw these valiant knights, to noble lords who understood noblesse oblige, and to selfless adventurers, who lived under the philosophy of “Ending each day, in a better state than it started.”
The Order of Aster has the potential to return the belief in a better tomorrow. Many of your knights have already made good progress in that regard. But you are hindered by the simple fact, that when you leave the lands of the Morninglord, so too does your authority. And sadly, you end up being shackled needlessly.
Together, we can change that. I wish to help you do two things.
One is to have the doctrines of the House of Morning become officially recognized by the Crown, shielding the faith of Lathander against heresy, and its corruptive influence.
The second, to grant Knights of the Aster official rights of enforcing the laws of the land.
To the second, I imagine you will argue “We already do what we must, by divine mandate”. But why not have the Knights of Aster officially sanctioned as a knightly order of the Realms? Perhaps in time, have your own chapterhouse within Arabel, so you need not travel twenty something miles to rest under safe quarters?
To make the argument more agreeable for the court and the nobles, my proposal would be to allow all Dawnknight’s this ability, and all squires accompanying said knights as acting deputies. Secondly, I would limit the agreement to what occurs inside Arabel’s walls, it already has too many attempting to force their will and rule upon the populace.
To have Lord Immerdusk attempt to recommend it to the courts, we would need some “bone” for his Crownguards to chew on. Perhaps allow all higher ranking Crownguards, to conduct their investigations inside Eveningstars lands (with various rules to ensure they recognize the church authority. Could be any investigations of a capital nature, must be brought to the attention of the church, and that at any time, a knight or priest will outrank any Crownguard operating in the area, or something similar.) Or perhaps simply your support in removing the authority of the “Cabal cultists” of the Precepts, who have failed to even attempt to bring to heel Izereth and Teth, showing their utter incompetence and corruptive nature.
Ponder it, discuss it amongst yourselves, and summon me when you have thought it over.Sincerely and faithfully
Sabriel of House Florent
Herald of the CrownguardThis was received, I have requested assurances of aid in slaughtering the druids monsters before we discuss what is contained, but will hear preliminary thoughts.

We need more allies that much is true - the Precept have a tiefling wandering around conducting business for them after all, happy to work with them to shut down their influence further. This should be a starting point.
Why do does House of Morning becoming "officially recognized by the Crown" shield us from anything? If people want to spout heretical shit they will be dealt with, regardless of paperwork.
We police our lands already, what other "official rights" can she give us?
Not interested in having members of the Crown aiding and conducting anything on our blessed lands, they do not have the divine foresight to offer anything to our people. Our blades and strength of soul keep our people safe and that is the way it should continue.
As such they should be bringing US any criminals of faith, necromancers and priests of ill intent to stand Trial By Light regardless of where their crimes are undertaken.

To the representatives of the House of Morning,
As we have been unable to meet one another, I imagine you are out chasing dragons and saving damsels, I pen this missive, to push forward your war efforts against the Wilderness War host. Notify me of any changes, and have it signed and delivered to the Crown. I have asked Bob, my steadfast courier, to await your penmanship and return it to Arabel post haste. Do not give him any more gold, he shall only become greedy.-Sabriel Florent
The House of Morning calls to war against the druidic war host, and to support it vassal, the Crown shall answer.
The House of Morning shall:- Bring to the field a fighting force, that if supplemented by Crown Forces, shall have the necessary strength and numbers to meet the War Host of the Wild Walkers, currently keeping the beholder hive at bay.
- The House of Morning pledges, that when the initial campaign has been won, it shall of its own pocket ensure a blockage, in numbers and strength capable of keeping the beholders from spilling out
- The House of Morning shall also pledge that its war host shall be capable in strength and numbers to meet and match the evil beholders and whatever else is lurking within the caverns.
The Crown shall:
- Supply the necessary numbers, that when combined with the forces from the House of Morning, shall be able to vanquish the Druid war host.
- It shall also supply specialist forces from the Crownguard, to assist in the following battles against the beholder hive.
- In following engagements with the beholder hive, the Crown shall offer what forces it can, to ensure a swift victory to appease the Gods and men alike.
Both parties:
- Both parties shall do their best to offer mercy to those druids they will have to fight, when they engage the war host. Any druids who either surrender, survive or are captured, shall be placed in Crown custody, and the Crown shall hold authority to broker peace with the remaining druids, to ensure that war does not spill into the entirety of the kingdom.
- Land, wealth, and general bounty shall be divided in equal measure, to pay restitution from the war efforts. Such discussions shall be held after the campaign has been won.
- Should the House of Morning fail to supply the necessary forces to replace the current blockage, it shall pay restitutive damages to the Crown, in a manner discussed between both parties behind closed doors.
*This clause will be void, should it be the will of Tempus, and not the lack of numbers, that lead to a potential defeat.
A lot of fluff and no real backbone, could have been a one liner saying "give us a hand against some monsters"
Will have a word with them and see what they want, will spell out some steps we want to take forward too

This is not how it's going to happen at all.
Firstly, any attack should be with a force comprised of equal parts from Eveningstar and Crown Guard, and likewise the encampment should be an equal endeavour.
The final clause is also an insult, and I would never agree to any clause that sees us hand gold over to the crown for having insufficient numbers.
Koeseph, if you wish me to take over negotiations I shall, but this should be a joint operation, not some crown attempt to thin our numbers and then extort us.
Please make that clear to Florent

Sacked off the idea of us giving them any gold for anything.
She basically wants two things long term:
*Higher ranking Crown Guards, to conduct their investigations inside Eveningstar lands (with various rules to ensure they recognize the church authority. Prehaps they can pay a stipend to the church for this? Happy to make a few gold coins out of them, they're all nobles after all.
*The establishment of a goodly order of Knights within the city - I said this would work if Lathander was the leading faith of the collective and we set the rules.
Keen to work with us to remove the Precept and install us as a similar authority
Keen to work with us to purge Tilverton
Keen to allow us "legal" bullshit over necromancers.I'll be honest I am not bothered about much legality on paper, so I am not best placed to lead such discussions. If someone crosses the faith then they are purged by Lathander's glorious light.

Honored Squires of Morning,
To ensure our discussions move forward at a brisk pace, I pen this missive to summarize the latest discussions between myself and Dawnbringer Koeseph.Beyond the already proposed agreement regarding the beholders and the wild walker monster army, the following topics were discussed:
The House of Morning gets:
- Legal rights to hunt necromancers within the entire kingdom, similar to the current "charter" of the Precepts regarding their strays.
- Protection against Heresy: The Church of Morning is fully recognised as the one true faith of Lathander in the entire Kingdom, and any heretical attempts to state otherwise, will be made illegal
- Dawnknights and above are given the right to enforce the laws of the land, outside Arabel
- The Crownguard and the House of Morning joins efforts to build a better arcane order, to replace the Precept Arcanum.
The Crownguard gets:
- Are allowed to enforce the Kings laws on Eveningstar soil, if done so by senior ranking members ((Rank 3 and above)), such as hunt rebels hiding within the forests, and similar actions to safeguard the entire realm. Any actions needed to be taken in Eveningstar village, may not be done without notifying and gaining permission from the House of Morning beforehand, and Crownguards must adhere to orders given by members of the House of Morning at any time.
- The House of Morning pledges its support to attempts to form a knightly order dedicated to all good faiths and the well being of the Kingdom itself. Deities could bebut not limited to Chauntea, Milil, Tymora, Torm. If Sir Myrkyr would find himself suitable to lead such a force or help train them, such would be a boon.
I shall await your response to these initial discussions, as I know Dawnbringer Koeseph may have taken a short leave of absence.
Respectfully
Sabriel Florent, on behalf of the CrownguardCopies are handed to members of the Crownguard for reference
