Acceptance of duel of Honor: Dominic Swift and Sabriel Florent
-
Mr. Swift,
This shall be my final attempt to teach you proper decorum and respect of your betters.
I could have turned you into a leader, a hero. But you have proven yourself a craven man, who will only enter a field of battle, when he is certain he will win.
You are one of the, to quote yourself, best swordsmen in the region, and you challenged a Minstrel, half your size, to a fighting form you are certain you will win at.You threatened me, dishonored my house, and challenged me to a duel of honor.
I accept. As I am the challenged, I set the rules, terms and choice of weaponry, as is tradition.
Rules: Skill only.
- No magic aqcuired by outside force, potion, wand or trinket.
- Magic will be allowed, in the event the individual who enters the ring, can cast the magic themselves, and is cast after the duel begins.
- Any attempt to cheat by either opponent, to use magic beforehand, or to twist the spirit of the rules will make them forfeit.
Weaponry: Simple weapons, no magic.
Terms: The loser shall hand over their uniform, and depart from the Crownguard. You can either meet me on these terms, which evens the playingfield, or show yourself to be the coward and opportunist everyone knows you are.
Once you have accepted the terms, you will be notified of who will be representing me in the dusty arena, or whether I shall fight my own battle.
Accept the terms, and a date shall be chosen. Or take back your challenge, and dishonor yourself further.

Dear Sabriel
You already refused the duel saying I was far beneath you and you did so in front of witnesses, You cannot refuse and in your own words seek out our superiors to have me reprimanded and then change your mind,
Mr. Swift,
While you await whatever reprimand you are about to recieve for your blatant disrespect, I shall honor my word, and deliver to you the song as promised. I fear it may have been sung once or twice already, the others were curious as to what I was working on.
No reply necessary.

Mr. Swift,
I am not your dear. But once again, you prove yourself to be a lesser man, who brags in public, yet is too frightened to face a single Minstrel in an arena, unless you can heavily stack the deck in your favor. As you forfeit your right to defend your words, you are fined 5000 gold for slander of a noble house, the maxium fine of a lesser crime.
You have been weighed, measured, and found wanting, Mr. Swift. You can cry foul to Lord Immerdusk, but I doubt he will come to your defense, when you are unwilling to do so yourself.

Miss Florent
Please show me where in the lawbook such a crime exists, I see no crime of slander anywhere.

Mr. Swift,
I will amend my terms, to allow your pathetic slab of iron. But if you are still too frightened to face me, then the fine stands, and will be collected, whether voluntary or not.I have a fondness for the less fortunate, so you can kiss my boot, beg for forgiveness, and I shall see the matter settled as well.
S. Florent, on behalf of all the Bluebloods you insult by your lack of respect for those in higher standing than you.

I am going to put my foot down, I think.
Dominic is not a noble, and has no business challenging one.
His "Honor" is that of a follower of Helm, and is frankly, inappropriate for this organization by which, its expressed intent when told to the noble assembly, was to permit their scions and youths an opportunity to earn the favor of the King and in such glory rise beyond mere second or third spares and become an asset to their family and future lord.
Commoners were permitted entry with the intention of them supporting the rise of their noble betters, and in so doing so, ride their coattails to glory.
If you cannot get along, that is fine- there are no serfs in the free city of Arabel, but this idea that a commoner can challenge a noble scion is ridiculous. If you do not like her behavior, or think it is borderline criminal, a private word with your immediate superior, Sir Everduke, is enough to see discipline done.
Enough of this, I am expecting Izereth's head in front of me, an honorable, glorious achievement that should belong to us while the savages rut with their lycan allies and caress their giant overlords. I want to know that this organization I have invested a great deal of my effort, noble stock, and time- is going to pay back dividends in glory and honor.
I will personally see the person who does so elevated. I won't hear of a 'concerted effort,' I will only reward one.
