The Crown Guard Code of Conduct
-
Foreword: As the Crown Guard allows for those of not noble birth to enter its ranks, it is necessary to educate them on the decorom and ethics, expected from any citizen of good standing. Secondly, it is due time we straightened up our ranks through discipline and decorom.
Part 1: Basic decorom of a noble and an officer
Readiness: A Crown Guard will always be prepared to carry out their duty to their land and to the Crown. Never drunken on wine while on duty, and never without their weapon. The armor and weapon of a Crown Guard is the difference between life and death, and should always be kept in pristine condition.Inspiration: The Crown Guard will wear their uniform or colors in public, looking ready to defend the Crown and the land, and to inspire the common man, unless it hinders them in performing their duty.
Restraint: The Crown Guard will be above petty squabbles amongst each other in public, and will never challenge to duels of honor, while at war or during a battle.
Leadership: The Crown Guard shall shall require no action of others, that they would not be willing to perform themselves, in order to inspire those beneath their station.
Honor: The Crown Guard will never abandon allies on the field, nor will he seek to profit from the loss of allies. Secondly, the Crown Guard will NEVER dishonor their uniform, by entering into shady deals, acts of needless greed, or in other ways tarnish the uniform or the Crown it represents.

Part 2: The meaning of the word Guard
As the common man tends his fields, the noble born is educated. Therefore, to ensure our common folk do not confuse our name with "similar" entities, I have taken the liberty to spare our common Guards numerous studies within libraries, in order to understand what we are, and what we are not.The Crown Guard defends the crown, and carries out its special interests. Hence the word Guard. They are not "The highborn Militia", chasing riff raff or breaking up brawls over petty theft. They are the elite of the elite, of the best stock Arabel can offer.
- We are not the Crown army either, to be treated like common food men. We are the ones who break the tide of a battle.
- We are not the Order of Aster, holy paladins sworn to a deity, but we are disciplined and couragous, and will not shy away from a fight if it serves the Realm.
- We are not immoral Ravens, doing our Lords bidding when the sun sets. But we are able to when needed, conduct the necessary cloak and dagger operations, needed to keep Our King and Queen safe, our realm prosperous, and our charge alive. In that order.
- While we may pocket fines we collect, we are not corrupt. We are the Crown Guard, and while gold is a necessity to our work, we are guided by our loyalty and devotion, not our lust for lining our own pockets.
We are, to make it blatantly obvious to all, an elite force of glorious nobles, under the purview of the very king of the land.
