Druidic Giants
-
Druids of giant heritage has agreed to aid the Wildwalkers against the beholders, however to reach Tilverton where they will gather they require safe passage through our lands. In return for safe passage, I have asked that the druids of giant heritage offers tithe to Lathander by paying off what they can of our debt to Tilverton. This would free us from the shackles of the Duke, something he can't refuse with the druids gathering in his land in the first place. Whilst also having them show great respect to our Morning Lord, as any should when passing through our land safely.

While I am sure you mean well,
Can we trust these giants to be well behaved? They are of simple mind and cruel in nature- and fat cattle may tempt them where their jerky does not satisfy.

Sir,
I understand your concern, but these druids giants won't be walking freely through out town. They will be formally escorted, with the Wildwalkers at their heels. It is also worth noting, one of them have already proven a witness in our case against the Precept, informing us how Izereth lied to the Councilors and stole Tristan's body after slaying him. There is risk, but I see us only to benefit.

I don't think you quite grasp what it means to have an entire tribe of giants move past a small, relatively undefended village.
The Order of Aster cannot guarantee the security of our civilians if this happens. One errant dwarf slinging an insult and boulders the size of our poorest houses will be raining down on our abode.
Nor do I trust the judgment of what a giant deems valuable. A better loin cloth? Deer fat to keep out the cold?
They are savages and should be treated as such- Lathander's light shines on humanity and all civilized races. While these giants may seem more cordial than others...
Well, if you can get a guarantee from the circles they will compensate us for any losses- I might be convinced.
