A Grand tournament To the glory of Lathander
-
Brothers,
Argun had a fine idea. A grand tournament, a series of games, to shake off the cold winter air, and to celebrate a new beginning. A glorious week of spectacles to entertain the masses, and to build new relations to the various groups within the city.
I propose we start or end the tournament, with celebrating the redemption and new beginning for the three captured farmers, that have been brought to Eveningstar. We shall invite all the groups in the city to participate and find worthy prizes to the winners. Perhaps the church will be able to sponsor such?
• Wrestling: No armors beyond cloth in thickness, no weapons.
• Jousting: Armed with lances (spears), each combatant must land a point against the other, three broken lances to win, one swing each.
• Archery: Rather than using targets, the combatants must strike each other instead.
• The Melee: The most known tournament. Perhaps we can find ways to make it more creative.
• The Gauntlet: If we cannot afford to establish a maze ourselves, we shall find a suitable dungeon to dwell into (Perhaps we can use a scripted quest, where teams must “beat the quest in the best time, if we cannot find a dm to run it)
• The sprint: How quickly can someone make it from Tilverton to Eveningstar.
We could spread out the tournaments across a ten day and rejoice on the final day of the tournament. We could even keep “track” of various groups, and how they do throughout each tournament, so that the various factions must compete against each other.Evelyn Stillwater
