Twelve Council

I am told there is significant planning underway to combat the growing corruption. What role is The Aster playing within? I am sure the Red Knight aspirant in a fine woman and is the Marshal. If The Aster is to grow and be seen to the people as anything more than a religious order serving Lathander it must provide leadership on and off the field of battle. People need symbols and heroes. Meetings and documents are boring and I dislike them myself but the First Peer has handed us an opportunity we could not have dreamed of. Don't squander it.

Dawnknight,
I would with great humility accept a seat on the council.
This city requires correction to achieve salvation. I keep hope alive each day by demonstrating to the people what it truly means to be free, and how important it is to enrich ones self with hope. I hope we can make the city more than it is. I hope we can inspire the people to see us as more than just zealots.
What is required to become a member of this council?
I will ensure our voice is heard.

Talk with Dawnsquire Artitian. I'll recommend you in his place if he doesn't want the responsibility. Not everyone is suited for leadership.

Dawnknight myrkyr,
I have already been hard at work with my plans for the council. Perhaps I have been a little lazy in sending in report of my recent doings- it has all been a political maneuvering. Trying to slowly change people's view of the need of our Order. Which, I might state, I have been successful in. I have won over two of the other councilors to support the Aster, and more on its way. Currently, I have both Fang Lilah (which would also probably mean Delilah as well) and Keline on my side for supporting bringing a new Law to Arabel.
As for work on the Horde, due to the mishaps of a certain buffoon that has fled the isles, the assault of the Black Tribe will no doubt be even worse to deal with. the Aster will be lending aid in defending the Druidic Dohlmen of the Redwoods to prevent further corruption. I would be interested in leading a team as well to assault one of the corrupted shrines to strike a blow at the Black Tribe.
As for the defense, are there any barricades we can lend? As far as I am aware, there are none prepared at the Dohlmen, and both sides are left quite open. And as far as I am aware, the Red Knight Aspirant will be leading us in charge.

Dawnknight,
I do believe if we made an effort in the defense of the Dohlmen we could surely win the hearts of many councilors, but most importantly, gain an ally of the Nature-folk in the region.
To my knowledge, there is a large rift between the Druids and the Amaunator Heresy. It would be a death blow to their heretical ways if we could make their enemies, our allies. Willing the battle of Dohlmen will do more for us than stop the Black Tribe, it will give us support both inside and outside the city of Arabel.

I wanted to inform everyone here that I plan to assemble an alliance of like minded Paladins to assist in resolving the various injustices left unattainable by the individual. This organization will then select the most pressing of tasks, and make them a priority.
This will not take away from my duties as a member of the Order, merely enhance them as I strive to better myself under Lathanders teaching.

You have my approval, and I will join you in this effort, Dawnsquire Nicholas.
May the Dawn be with you,

Indeed, this seems to be a promising endeavor. You will have my aid.

It would appear, 3 separate mercenary groups wish to appeal to the Council of Twelve to be hired.
Their demands differ
Gilded Legion of Sembia - would like 1,000,000 golden coins to end the war.
Black Hand Mercenaries of the dead god, Bane - something other than coin, and wish to only make their demands known to the council of twelve.
The Rabble Rousers of Arabel - want alcohol, weapons, and land. They are mostly farmers with cudgels.
It is my opinion that either is a bad choice, and our best chance would be to contact a different organization more willing to work with the Crimson Legion. However, the little time to contact and negotiate is at odds with the timing of the next council meeting. Therefore I suggest we hire the most unlikely of them.. the Rabble Rousers.
With the Rousers, we condition that they submit to 8 years of military training and drills. Within six months we will have a standing army of loyalists who would fight to the bitter end to defend their homes. We arm them, and after four years they get their property. This would be my recommendation.
I would like to hear your thoughts. Does Arabel need a second mercenary group? Do we need it immediately? Can the Rabble Rousers be trusted and worked with?
The Rabble Rousers have asked on the day of the meeting to speak for them, and I plan to do such.

With Dawnknight Aritians departure from these lands imminent, I would request access to the Council of Twelve. I have received a recommendation via word of mouth from the Councilor Nanthleenee, our friend and ally, a great druid of the Redwood forest.
I will need a second recommendation to work in accordance of the laws of these lands, and have applied to house Misrim who have thusfar denied me.
I will keep you posted on my second supporter as I find new allies.
Dawnknight Nicholas.

I would try talking to the Crimson. One of them is a claimed holy warrior to some draconic god that I nor any in the Church have ever heard of. That other short one seems a reasonable sort as well. I may well be wrong, under the Light pray it is not so, but with one of them recommending you, that is all it takes to bring the council to a vote?
We need to be on the council. You cannot have a gathering of Heroes without The Aster!
Dawnknight Myrkyr.

Dawnknight Myrkyr,
If it only takes but one supporter, then I have it. Nanthleenee. I was under the impression it requires two. I will immediately reach out the the Crimson Guard for support.

//I'm adding some IC notes to this to avoid confusion in the future but if you read the Faction information it says
How to Join:
Major faction members of Rank 3 or higher are automatically on the council but with a maximum of 2 from each faction. Lower Ranks can be assigned if needed to fill the seats
Special positions/lesser factions/non-factions are dealt with on a case by case basis
To join all that is needed is the recommendation of 1 major faction council member (Crimson and Misrim) or 2 non-faction/special position/lesser faction council members after demonstrating IC merit and reputation.I'd ask the Crimsons to find out exactly how it works. I somehow thought it only took one of the Coin grubbers or the Blood Cloaks to recommend someone because of the sway they hold with our First Peer and the city. I could have misunderstood.
