Summoning Theme: Construct lacking construct skin?

Constructs seem to not have their appropriate skin- they're vulnerable to dazing (choking powder), sneak attacks (drow ate one of them earlier), poison (dire spider), disease (snake or something) and Hold Person/Charm magics (drow mage). I've seen this on both 5th and 4th level summons, I have not tested the smaller ones.
This poor construct went through all of that in one fight, and more after watching his buddies get mulched.
