Faction Ranks explained

There are 4 ranks in some form or another in the factions.
Not all factions have a hierarchy or official status change with increased rank though.
Example of faction with hierarchy would be the House of the Morning
Gear is not normally issued for "promotions" though exceptions may apply at the sole discretion of the DM team
In general terms a faction ranking system and perks for said ranks is as follows

Rank 1 (Not officially part of the faction, more like a groupie)

Recruited ICly or talked to the faction NPC
Issued an item (faction dependent) that shows the pcs commitment and intention
Access to Discord to meet players and get involved
Considered a short term/introductory rank to try the faction out and get an IC recommendation from a faction pc or dm notification. You either earn an IC recommendation or are expected to move on to something more suitable for the concept.
Should be no more than a few days to a week. (Contact a DM directly after a couple days if you've had no luck finding a pc)
May dye, at their own cost whatever gear they are wearing until they gain access to the faction store. This is not required. Wearing the entry cloak is for a few days.

Rank 2 (EiG Easy) Officially part of the faction)

Been ICly recommended or application approved by DM team
Faction perks available as appropriate (Resting, Storage, Wages, Custom Store, Forums)
Expected to dye and customize gear in such a way that is replicated faction prestige gear
Faction gear with prestige cost is available for "purchase" including a generic basic set of gear without any stats at a low cost

Rank 3 (EiG Moderate)

For some factions this will come with rank name or special perks (FOIG)
Generally will include (Upgraded/Private rest with private storage, Increase Wage in addition)
Expected to dye and customize gear in such a way that is replicated faction prestige gear
Faction gear with prestige cost is available for "purchase" including a generic basic set of gear without any stats at a low cost

Rank 4 (EiG Hard- Considered co-faction leadership with the NPC leader)

For some factions this will come with rank name or special perks (FOIG)
Generally will include (Upgraded/Private rest with private storage, Increase Wage in addition)
Expected to dye and customize gear in such a way that is replicated faction prestige gear
Faction gear with prestige cost is available for "purchase" including a generic basic set of gear without any stats at a low cost
