Allright, I will shamelessly put some loot in this page that I would love to stumble across.
Rat Charmers Gloves.
Created by a scholar of Ohgma whose only duty was to oversee the large collection of books in Murnalisks tower, these gloves were fashioned from the many rats that he found prowling around during his late nights. He thought to use these gloves to make the rats into his friends so that they could entertain his lonely existence. Amazingly the gloves worked! Whether it was the musky odor of rat urine or some magic that the scholar did, no one knows. The secret was lost when he was tricked into the sewers by his new friends and devoured one tiny bite at a time.

Ring of Silence
_There was once a vocally anti-magic cult that claimed words were what gave magic it's devilish power. It was said by the cult leaders that the longer one remained silent, the more resistance to magic they would be.
The truth of this philosophy is unknown, but each member was issued a ring, and the properties of this ring do indeed render one progressively more resistance to magic the longer they remain quiet._
I guess this ring would provide one with a unique ability. You "use" the ring, and some script would add 1 SR every so many rounds until the player said something, at which point the SR would go back down to 0.

GLIM-GAUNTLET–--------------------------
Once common items in Waterdeep, glim-gauntlets are rare and unusual articles these days, for the secret of their manufacture has been lost. This enchanted glove fits whatever hand dons it. Woven of metallic fibers, it can handle sharp objects and pass through flame and intense heat without injury to the hand encased within. On the command of the user, the glimgauntlet will glow, lighting dark passageways as brightly as the wearer wishes them to be lit. If touched to any magical item, the glim-gauntlet will glow; the brighter its intensity, the greater the power of the item. The glove's abilities are activated by mental command.

Skill Bonus: Lore +6BONE RING--------------------------------
This plain finger ring is always carved from human bone. Nebt Bhakau's "Book of Shadows" hints at a secret method for enchanting these rings, but only the clerical tome "On Coming Forth by day" contains the full details of their construction. A bone ring wards the wearer from all energy- or Strength-draining attacks from all sources (such as undead and hostile spells). Each ring has 50 charges. Every attempted use of the ring will drain one charge until it finally disintegrates into fine, dry powder.
Cast Spell: Negative Energy Protection, 1 charge/use
HADE'S HAND------------------------------
Hades Hand: Also called Bane's fist (or often by its more generic title, the dagger of slaying), this wickedly curved dagger +1 is enchanted as a receptacle for powerful necromantic spells that normally require physical contact to transmit. Instead, these spells are stored in the dagger blade and are triggered and delivered to the victim by subsequent, successful attacks with the weapon. They are automatically bestowed on all subsequent victims of the blade. The creators usually imbue such daggers with cause (fatal) disease, cause blindness, or slay living. It is said that the wizard version of the dagger, employed most often by necromancers, can store an even greater number of deadly spells, such as vampiric touch, lich touch, and so on. Those slain by a Hades hand are forever dead. Regardless of whether or not the death resulted from a stored spell or physical dagger damage, the victim of such assault can never be brought back to life by raise dead, reincarnation, or resurrection. Only a full wish can restore a character who has been slain by a Hades hand. Members of any character class (evil alignment only) may employ one of these weapons.

Only Useable by: EvilROBES OF SHADOW---------------------------
A favorite magical item among the followers of the Murder God, Bhaal, these brocaded robes are equivalent to a cloak of protection, varying from +1 to +3 in enchantment. The robe's primary power, however, enables its wearer to assume shadow form, once per day. This power is usually activated by a short prayer to Shar (this command phrase is usually sewn somewhere into the garment). These robes are considered to be semi-divine artifacts in the cults of Bhaal and Shar, and his Stranglers will seek to regain a lost set of robes regardless of the cost.

Only Useable by: EvilBLACKFLAME--------------------------------
Blackflame is a black longsword +1/+4 vs Undead. When the sword is being used against an undead creature, it ignites and becomes enveloped in cold black flames. The flames cause no damage to the wielder. This weapon used to be in possesion of Namble Swiftleg, leader of the 2nd Amnwater Blues batallion in Esphurta, but was lost after an encounter with vampires in the troubled lands close to the border with Tethyr.

When the barbarian king Ralcor lost his kingdom and his life against a brief struggle with a powerful necromancer shaman that challenged his leading position in the tribe, he was buried with his ancestors and many ceremonial gifts including the golden mask that covered his face. The name of the usurper has not remained in the stories, but the items he created after raising the dead king exist still as a testament to his power.
Cast Spell: Animate Dead, 2/day
Cast Spell: Circle of Death, 3/day
Cast Spell: Finger of Death, 1/dayGOWN OF THE RESTLESS----------------------
This robe was worn by would-be lady Mary Innsteward of Tethyr at the night when she was assasinated in her lord's manor, only a few hours before their marriage. The blood that stained its front could never be removed and the robe was saved only as a reminder of the heinous act. Rumor has it that the dress cunvulsed itself in an upright position during moonless nights and even danced alone, or stood still at the manor's window as if the invisible wearer was gazing outside, and even though Mary's ghost was put to rest after the execution of those responsible. Whether the robe itself has a malevolent sentience or not has not been determined yet, but it is believed that undead beings shun the wearer or feel disinclined, even fearful, to approach him. As for the living, it is said that the most determined attacker can be thwarted by the gown, his morale crushed, even though a more careful study reveals that this power only works on a weak individual.

Mallefluent is an intelligent Greataxe +2/+5 against undead creatures of any alignment, forged in the shape of a gargoyle, its spread wings forming the axe blades. A vorpal weapon vastly superior to any Blade of Sharpness, Mallefluent delights in severing heads, and the use of the weapon is a decidedly evil act.
As an intelligent weapon, this axe has high ego, speech and telepathetic abilities, and Chaotic Evil alignment. It can bestow a number of powers upon its wielder.
Who made this monstrously evil weapon is unknown. If asked, Mallefluent will only say it is a self-created being. Only death or a very powerful spellcaster can seperate this weapon from the unfortunate creature that picks it up.Enhancement Bonus: +2

Only Useable By: EvilSCEPTER OF THE NETHER WORLD--------------
Three such staves were created by powerful undead beings, all supposedly originating from the island of the necromancer kings, to the far south seas. That is unlikely however, and sightings of these artifacts have been made in southern Amn, in Thay, the Heartlands, Calimshan, and Waterdeep, at different years and by different people. Some scholars actually suggest that there may be more than the three recorded.
Each of these items is fashioned from elven bone, and carved with intricate designs and sigils. They are all unbreakable and allow the possesor to exert his authority over the living and the dead.
Even though they are greatly sought after by powerful necromancers, these staves rarely change hands, since they despise change and prefer stability, offering their fullest potential to their current owner (that is usually a person of some power already) to defeat any thieves and usurpers. Finally, such staves can animate the dead (with the command word: "Arise!") and even mend broken bones and tissue.Increased Ability Score: Charisma +2

just thought of this, would be nice for my bard:
resonant breastplate
–-----------------------made of thicker steel then a normal breastplate, this breastplate hampers movement a little, but then again that's not it's purpose. A bard with strong enough vocal skills (and lungs) is able to make the steel resonate, so that when he or she is out of breath, the steel will make his song last longer, through the resonating of the steel parts.
This effect makes it even harder to cast spells in this plate though, because there is an echo, that makes it harder to focus on the spell being cast.Breastplate +1 (or something)

Knight's Mask:
A ranking member of the Purple Dragon Garrison in a small city in Northern Cormyr, became frustrated on his quest for nobility and seeing an order of knights within the same City gain that noble status at much less risk or service to the Crown.
Failing at his efforts to reach his lofty goal, repeatedly, and seeing what he considered lesser servants of Cormyr raised to that he sought, he slowly drifted into a state of madness concerning his quest.
Finally, one day, when accosted by a Veteran Knight of the Order, over a rather petty incident and being reminded by the Knight of his status as nobility, the Purple Dragon officer snapped. The frustration and fury bottle up inside of him burst forth and he attacked the young Knight with his bare hands.
The Knight, somewhat of a stranger to brutal combat, was unable to prevent the grizzled veterans attacks and found himself quickly rendered unconscious.
The maddened old warrior, using a well-worn but sharpened skinning knife, carefully removed the Knight's face from his still living body. Laughing maniacally, he placed this skin over his own visage, replaced his helm and sauntered out into the dark night.

Robe of the Winds
At first sight this robe is nearly invisable, but a carefull impection revales that its acturly made of wind, magicaly changned to form a solid form.
Unsurprising these robes are highly desirable by followers of wind based dieties.... and hated by earth ones.
Once worn, the robes makes the user feel like there part of the wind it self... which does have the drawback of making them easier to knockover.

Armour of Travelling

Steam Sword
A rejected item made by Minos Kent, a rather enthused priest of Gond. this Appears to be a bastard sword, but is huge and extremely heavy. Also, it is covered in pistons, cogs, valves and other mechanical nonsense. when activated, the Sword splutters into life and pistons jerk the blade around manically. Kent originally meant it to do all the work, but it actually just maims everyone in sight, rather than the intended target.
(Dunno if this is do-able, but I think its cool :D )

It is a curious item indeed..
