Statue: The Faceless Light
The statue before you is of a faceless Dawnbringer in the service of the Morninglord. It is a common statue found in most shrines or temples of Lathander which is known historically as "The Year of Lathanders Light."
In 1024DR, a Dawnbringer raised a private company of heroes to defeat a long forgotten threat. It is said the order of Aster sent one lone knight to join the Dawnbringer to keep him safe on his crusade against the darkness. The pair travelled for twenty years together forging a bond of friendship and comradery known only to brothers and sisters in arms. The pair, whos names are forgotten by history, were a Light against the Darkness for the age of Lathanders Light, bringing his good will and safety where ever they travelled.
In 1045DR, the pair were engaged by an old enemy of the Light in the streets of Waterdeep. The Dawnknight, ever vigilant of his duty, in a last act of heroism gave his life for his charge, the Dawnbringer. It is said he battled for many hours against his foes, and after taking a third arrow, fell to a knee, asking his enemy for but a moments rest before they continue to trade blows.
