Faction Recruitment
-
I've got a character running around trying to work some IG stuff. I've already been pulled into a few plots, which is good for me to get to know the setting again.
If I find an interesting faction IG, I'll be sure to ask around! :D

If your intrested in something a little none typical cuiltish, drop me a pm. Its a perfect time to get new factions going too! :D

House Fezznick or the Knights of the Merciful Sword could use some new blood. They're a great place to…..ah crap, nevermind.
That said, most of my time on CoA has been in DM factions and just about all of them have been great. Anyone that's looking for a way to be involved in the happenings of the server should consider joining one. There are many players happy to help with the "dreaded" application.
Some common myths about DM factions that need to be dispelled.

They are not a straight jacket that crushes character development. Rather they provide a frame work to help with the goals and telling the character's story.

Apps are not difficult. If you've already come up with a concept and are doing things IG or know what you'd like to do, that's the hard part. Putting it on paper just takes some practice. Pop into #coacharacters or talk to a DM directly for some guidance and feedback.

Factions are more work than fun, something I don't agree with. I've been in factions where some post like a champion forum warrior and other factions where it's like pulling teeth to even get something reported. Some factions require a certain amount of "paperwork". That's IC so if you really hate doing it, then those specific factions might not be a good fit OOC. Ask the players in the factions about the "work load" and see what happens. The PC factions I've been in took way more effort and hard work than anything I ever was required to do in a DM faction

None of the factions "fit" my character is a pretty narrow minded statement. Only the DMs truely know the exact details of the factions so ask them for some feedback. There is the public face of every organization and usually somethings going on behind the scenes. One of the best times I've had in a faction was with vastly different concepts from those in the faction. The irony was that only one out of the five of us was actually what most thought the faction was all about, and even that character had somethings that weren't perfect for the faction.
I'm sure there's more but this will likely turn into some sort of conversation about things having nothing to do with specific faction recruitment.
Therefore, I will simply close with, it's well worth joining any faction PC, or DM so I highly recommend the experience.

I'm in a faction, and i LOVE it…
that said, i would hate to be a character out of the loop right now... even if you're not factiony... at least make some allies and get involved! change things!
